Chapter 33 : VI - Kisaragi Village

Start from the beginning

“Nami. Here.” She said, poking my forehead. For a second, that gesture made me remember Itachi-nii.

You can call me inside your mind when something comes up, just think about sending me a very important message and you’ll be connected to me. She winked at me while she talked inside my head.

“I’m not amazed. You did this back then.” I raised my eyebrow at her face that was expecting me to be amazed.

“Pff. Yeah. I forgot about that.” She opened her arms at me. “Hey. Let me hug you.”

I nodded and went at her, hugging her. “Iki. Relax. Everything is going to be fine. We’re here to help you take care of everything.” I murmured.

“Yeah. I’ll be counting on you Konoha Ninjas. Another reason for this hug, this is a favor from your father.” She said as she took a step back from me.

“A favor from my father?”

“Yeah. Back then. He told me to hug you when we meet again.”

“Why’s that?”

“He told me to hug you when you removed my stress or made me feel better. So I am doing it.” She said, matter-of-factly.

“Lady Iki? Someone’s here to talk to you…” Sho-san went outside where we are and saw me. “Oh. Nami-san, You’re here.”

I waved at him. “So then, I guess I’ll see you around. Goodluck.” Iki told me and slapped me on my shoulder like what I did earlier.

“Ow! That was way harder than earlier!” I said, rubbing my shoulder.

She just stuck her tounge out and walked inside. “That’s not something an old hag should do.” I said. She suddenly froze and a deadly aura coming out of her. I grinned, jumping away. “Ja ne~”

I jogged away, still hearing Iki’s shouting voice behind me. I coughed a laugh and proceeded to walk to our temporary house. I walked through the mini-forest in the village. There’s not much villagers that come here. I felt a presence on the tree I will pass by and identified who the owner of that chakra is. He jumped down from the tree.

“Hey. What’s up?” I asked Chi.

“Nothing much. Can we talk?”

“We’re already talking.” I grinned, making him roll his eyes. I jumped at the tree and sat at the branch, Chi followed, sitting beside me.

“Thank you for making my mother smile like that. She is really exhausted at what is happening around our village. I think she relaxed when she was talking with you earlier.” He told me.

“Oh. You w ere listening?” I asked, looking at him.

“I was watching from up here. I can’t hear what you were talking about from here, but I can see you. Look.” He pointed in the direction where I came from and where Iki’s porch should be. The place where we were talking earlier.

“So you watch Iki from here?” I asked him.

“I always do. She usually sighs or she has a sad look on her face every night I look at her from here. She is really bothered by what is happening on our village and I wanted to help her. Then when I saw the both of you talk, that was the first time Mom smiled and kid like that since the disappearances started. ” He told me. Chi really watched Iki from here every day. He is bothered at what is happening to Iki too. Of course he is. She’s his mother.

“Chi.” I smiled at him. “Don’t worry. We’ll do as much as we can and I promised Iki that I will do anything to bring this village back to normal. Just don’t do anything reckless. So… you like Mami-chan?” I asked, changing the topic and leaned at the tree. Chi snapped his head on my direction and his face turned red. “W-w-what?! Where did that come from?!” I wiggled my eyebrows at him and grinned widely.
