This is our escape

I will count to three

Then you will come to me

We'll see diamond chandeliers

Little chocolate deers

All the things that please you

Pigs that say moo

Kings will bow

Little ladies scowl

And call you prettier than they

We'll tramp down imagination's Way

Throw out the script

Boredom has been robbed

Of its prey

It's time to play

There is a lady who will call it nonsense

She may even use past tense

But you and I know better

Where's the fun in a dull letter

We'll skip to z

Then climb up and frown at a b c

If you're trying to amuse

I'm giving you nice clues

When you have to go mad you must go mad

Sometimes just a tad

But might as well take off your shoes

Dive right in to fantasy's pools

Turn the page

Don't make me wait an age

Just to see what happens next

I'm trying my best

Time we spend together

Can't be traded for some other

Years can catch us and drag us down

Or we can dive straight underground

Life can be a path we walk upon

Flowers growing while we sing along

Or a maze we have to puzzle through

Wondering why cows say moo

There are strictly two kinds of people

Those who know the color purple

And those who know purple is a color

Clearly one is duller

So either we are clever or we are silly

Born to grow like a daffodilly

Laughing because we are smarter than the rest

Reading up to find the best

Either you know the world or the world knows you

Mutual friendships are so few

We could teach you a thing or two

Ignore it when the ghost says boo

You have two choices now

You can believe that, somehow

I know what I'm saying

So you better start praying

Or you can believe I've simply spoken

My mind until it's broken

And now the nonsense is pouring out

Like tea from the tea kettle's spout
