My heart is beating so slow

Time is frozen and won't go

The blood is slush in my veins

Silence perfectly suspended reigns

Voices in my head ring

Like lost birds on the wing

The past is never tame

I find that always the same

It is a river too deep to wade

You fight the current memory made

Sometimes you win the battle

But still your bones will rattle

The force is against you

For peace and mercy you may sue

But the ocean is cold

To the conqueror you are sold

Down to the depths you are lost

It does not care what may be the cost

Past the moments it takes you

Unfeeling for the damage it may do

So here I lie

Unable to blink an eye

Struck dumb by the weight

Of realization come too late

Thoughts away from me I can't bequeath

Alone fighting to breathe
