(Meanwhile In Nate's room)
(Nate grimaces as he tries to creator his head and tries to blink away the pain)
Nate(groans): Ow..
(Nate hears the rest of the team downstairs and Sterling. And he remembers what happened)
Nate(mumbles): What's Sterling doing here?
(Nate can't get up because he's too dizzy)
(Back at the table with everyone else)
(Sophie gets a bad feeling)
Sophie: I'm gonna check on Nate, okay.
(Everyone nods and continues to ask questions about Nate's past)
(Sophie walks upstairs towards Nate's room. She walk into his room and notices he's awake)
Sophie(asks unsure): Nate, are you awake?
Nate: Depends if...you're made or not.
(Sophie smiles)
Sophie: I'm not mad, Nate.
Nate: Well, in that case...I am awake. Wh-What's Sterling doing here?
Sophie: Well after he knocked you unconscious he said that Ian told him to kill you-
Nate: That's really comforting...
Sophie: ...or he'd lose his job, so Eliot said that we'd help get his job back.
(Nate squints at Sophie)
Sophie: what?
Nate: I don't know...if it's just my head but I-I think there's more to it then that.
Sophie(confused): What do you mean?
Nate: Eliot's never happy when he's with Sterling and you guys were a-all laughing.,.
Sophie(nervous): Oh that was nothing, Nate.
Nate: Soph, I know when you're lying. What did Sterling say?
Sophie(laughs nervously): It was nothing, Nate. Really.
Nate(grimaces slightly): What did he say, Soph?
Sophie: Nate? It's probably better if you lie down and-
Nate: It's okay, I'm fine. soph-
(Sophie tries to cover Nate in the blankets. Nate moves away even though it causes terrible amounts of pain)
Nate: He was talking about me, huh. (Exhales) Uhh.
(Sophie stops)
Sophie(sighs): Yeah...
(Sophie starts laughing)
Sophie: I mean who knew you knew Jit Jitsu, Mau Thai, KENPO? It's unbelieveable. how come you never told us?
(Nate's face is flushed)
Sophie(doesn't notice): And you're first kids(chuckles) ...you were 13?!!!
Nate: Soph-
Sophie: And you fought for her! Oh my god, Nate! That's so adorable and so unbelievable.
Nate: Sophie...
Sophie: That's so sweet!
Nate(embarrassed): Sophie, I don't need to rest.
Sophie: Okay, then.
(Nate sits up ignoring the pain and stands up)
(Nate sways on his feet)
Sophie: Nate...
Nate(tries to cover head): I'm fine...
(Nate swears under his breath)
Sophie: See, you were just shot and hit in the head, I think you should rest.
Nate(breathing heavily): No, I need to know what he told you and everyone else.
(Sophie sighs as they walk back down the stairs into the kitchen)
Sterling: ...And of course, he wins and does t have to give his dads Porsche to anyone-
(Eliot, Parker, and Hardison see Nate. Sterling stops mid-sentence)
Nate(gives Sterling a blank stare): Why the hell did you tell them that?
Sterling(stutters): I-It w-was all them. Th-They said if I-I-I told them something about y-you they... theyd help m-me get m-my job back.
(Nate looks at Eliot)
Eliot: I never knew you knew how to fight, Nate. loads of respect, man!
(Eliot sips his beer)
Nate(embarrassed): Really, James.
(Sighs)
Nate: anyways, I figured it out...
Sterling: Figured out what?
Nate(gives aggravated sigh): If you'd just give me a chance to explain, James.
Sterling: Okay, okay.
Nate: The man who shot me in the bar was hired by Ian to kill both of us-
Sterling(interrupts Nate): How do you know that?
Nate(gives aggravated sigh again): James, just give me a chance to explain, okay? That man was sent by Ian to kill the both of us-
Sterling(interrupts again): But why would he send me to tell you that I was being stalked to kill you, then.
(Nate covers his face in his hands)
Sophie: Nate, you okay...
Nate(frustrated): Yes, I'm fine. im fine. I'm fine.
(Sophie moves Nate's hands to see he's wincing)
Sophie: Nate what's the matter?
Nate: It's...just...my eyes...
(Nate uncovers his eyes to see if the pain went away)
(Nate covers his face in his hands again)
(Sophie guides Nate away from the kitchen into his room)
Sophie: What's wrong, Nate?
(Nate tries to rub his eyes but it just makes it worse)
Nate(frustrated and in pain): I-I can't focus on anything...I can't even see you clearly.
(Sophie wets a cloth and gently moves his hands away from his eyes)
(Nate tries to cover his eyes again)
Sophie: Nate, this'll help.
(Nate uncovers his eyes and Sophie cleans them)
Sophie: There, now open your eyes.
(Nate opens his eyes to realize that the pain has died down)
Nate: Thanks, Sophie.
Sophie: Don't mention it.
Nate: can you tell the team why Ian sent that man to kill Sterling and I- I don't feel like going down there.
Sophie: Sure.
Nate: Ian wanted Sterling out of the business- Sterling hasn't been solving much cases and he's let several painting get lost.
Sophie: why you then?
Nate(shrugs): Because he's always been angry since I left IYS
Sophie: Okay, I'll tell him.
(Sophie leaves to tell Sterling)
(Nate walks out of his bathroom into his bedroom)
