Chapter 10 - Hearing It Not Clear

Jai's POV

I AM KEEPING my head down while Drake looks really comfortable and confident while still firmly holding me. I feel uneasy because of all the stares that were given by the people around us.

"Baby, they'll not gonna hurt you," he is laughing softly while saying those words. I rolled my eyes without him seeing. Siya ang may ari nito kaya sanay na siya sa attention, but I'm definitely not like him!

"Is that the CEO rumored fianceé?"
"She's really gorgeous."
"Black suits good on her, she's so sexy!"
"I wonder what is her surname, is she rich?"

Napatingala ako nang marinig ang mga bagay na 'yon. I want to thank them silently because of their compliments, but I am not Drake's rumored fiancée. Are they talking about Amixel? Does that mean, hindi pa nadadala ni Drake dito ang fianceé niya?

Lahat ng madaanan namin ay bumabati ng good evening pero nanatili pa rin akong tahimik. It's not as if they're greeting me, they are surely greeting Drake who was just smiling the whole time while enjoying my waist's company, jeez.

Pumasok kami sa elevator at naging tiempo ko 'yon para alisin ang kamay niyang nakapalibot pa rin sa baywang ko. I'm surprised when he remove his hand when I was just about to remove it myself. Woah, hindi siya nagpumilit ngayon.

"Sorry, nangalay ako," he said and he then held my hand. I became solid as a rock, what the hell? Why he suddenly became this sweet?

"Kindly remove your hands, please?" I irritatingly said.

My heart which is beating rapidly annoys me even more! I glared at Drake but he just shook his head while smiling widely. I rolled my eyes and just accepted my defeat. Walang silbi kung makikipag-away pa ako sa kanya-- sh.t.

Nanlaki ang mga mata ko nang maramdamang dumampi ang labi niya sa balikat ko. He even rested his chin onto it. Gusto niya ba talaga akong mamatay dahil sa gulat? Argh! Why is he so clingy this time?

"Thank God you talked to me again."

I didn't expected that coming. I can't believe the fact that he sounds so sincere when he said that. Pakiramdam ko'y nanlambot ako nang marinig 'yon.

Bumukas ang elevator kasabay ng pagtayo niya nang normal at pagbuntong-hininga ko. Hindi ko talaga makakayanan kung laging magiging ganoon ang pakikitungo niya sa'kin. Kanina niya pa pinaparamdam na hindi lang ako maid para sa kanya. O baka naman, ako lang uli ang nag-iisip non.

He never let my hand go until we went inside a big office. As in big, tipong dinoble ang size ng kwarto niya. He guided me and told me to sit at a long sofa across a table. Nakita ko doon ang tag ng pangalan niya. He's really the CEO here.

Kung natuloy ang game namin kaninang umaga, siguradong mas marami pa akong nalaman tungkol sa kanya.

Napatingala ako nang maramdaman ko ang labi niya sa noo ko. He kissed my forehead and it feels like.. uh, how can't I even find words to describe what his gesture made me feel? All I know is that I would want to feel it again.

"I'm going to have a meeting with the board of directors, stay here. Wait for me," he gave me a smile but when I look directly in his eyes, sadness is back in there. Why I feel like I'm also becoming sad when I see him like this?

AFTER ALMOST 1 hour and 03 minutes, I guess? Well, I'm just staring at the wall clock the whole time here, the door finally opened. Thank God! I thought I'll sleep here, jeez.

"Sorry for making you wait," Drake said the moment he saw me. I can't read any emotions in his face right now. Napaisip ako sa kung ano ang pinag-usapan nila.

I stood up when he signalled me to. Lumakad ako papunta sa direksyon niya at nilagpasan siya. I was waiting him to come over me, to hug my waist or hold my hand, but none of them happened.

It feels like something inside me broke. I'm disapppointed but I disregard it immediately with my pride. But my conscience is killing me. Huminto ako sa paglalakad at humarap sa kanya.

"Is there a problem?" I asked. I can't help it.

He shook his head while walking towards me. Hindi na ako nagulat pa nang maramdaman ko ang braso niyang pumulupot sa katawan ko. His hug is so warm and I love the feeling on how comfortable it is. I hugged him back and he tightened his grip on me. Ibinaon niya ang ulo niya sa leeg ko na ikinatingala ko. I want to hug him too so I let him. I feel like he need it and I need it too.

"Amixel called the team. She said she can't handle our branch in New York anymore. Her dad died and she's mourning," he said with a heavy tone. I could sense how sad he is so I decided to caress his back.

"She's neglecting our business instead of handling it responsibly. We expected more from her even though we already anticipated that this could happen. The team asked me to come after and help her."

Natigil ang kamay ko sa paghaplos sa likuran niya. I could feel the panic building inside me. Is he going to leave?

"But I don't want to, I know they're aware that they can't change my word and so they have no choice but to keep their mouth shut when I said no. I want to stay with you as much as I could, Jai," he murmured, to the point na ang unang nabanggit lang niya ang naintindihan ko. I'm relieved that he don't want to leave.

"Hey, sorry but I didn't heard it all clear, mind repeating it?" I honestly told him.

"Let's go, may pupuntahan pa tayo," he said then he smiled, it was a sign na hindi niya din narinig ang sinabi ko.

I was about to say it again but my voice disappeared when I felt his hand held mine. Even though he is smiling, I know it's not real. I sighed. I decided to let what he just said to pass. I'm afraid that he doesn't want to talk about it again.

Lumabas kami ng building at muling sumakay sa kotse niya. We arrived in front of a mansion. It's also big like his house, but his house looks more expensive than this. It was colored by caramel and white, with black thick gates that were surely made with a hard metal. The large gate is left opened, welcoming a lot of people, including me and Drake.

Bumaba ako sa kotse niya at hindi na hinintay pa ang pagbaba niya. I can't help but to immediately smile because of the loud music that was playing. I recognized the music and it surprise me, it is one of the songs of my favorite band!

"Happy?" I heard him asked so I nodded. Woah, so eto pala ang sinasabi niyang pupuntahan namin? Hell, I might enjoy this place because of the music!

Wala sa sarili akong napayakap sa braso ni Drake para mapigilan ang excitement ko. The mansion is really attractive and it looks very alive because of the loud music and colorful lights that were dancing all around.

Naramdaman kong kumakabog na din ang kinatatayuan namin ni Drake nang makapasok kami. I can't stop banging my head slowly, the loud music is tapping my both ears and I fre.king love it!

"You're adorable."

Napalingon ako kay Drake na nakangiti na naman at nakatitig sa'kin. Hindi ko uli narinig nang malinaw ang sinabi niya dahil sa malakas na kantang nakakaindak talaga, I just smiled back at him and brought my attention back at the place.

Habang naglalakad kami sa gitna ng mga nagsasayawang tao ay halos matangay na kami. I observe the place even more. Some of men or even women were already wasted. They were lying on the glass tables with vomits beside their head, I chuckled.

Hindi na ako nagulat nang may mga naghahalikan pa akong nakita, but some were just normally talking, I wonder if they could still hear each other's voices.

"Hey everyone, pay attention please."

I heard Drake's voice snapping me back in the recent time.

"This is Jai," he continued.

Napalingon ako sa kanya at nagulat pa nang makita sa harapan namin ang mga lalaking nakaformal attire rin kagaya niya. Maybe these men were Drake's business partners. May mga kandong o katabi silang babae na nakatingin sa amin, or more like, sa'kin?

"She's a friend."
