Alec didn't come to school as he said. He didn't even told me. People asked how he was doing. I bet they didn't give a shit for real. They just wanted to look nice.
I called him, he didn't answer. Nor did he answer any of my texts. I didn't even think he ever read them in the first place. The day went by slowly till I finally came home.
An heavy atmosphere surrounded the house. As soon as I stepped in, I knew something was going on. My family and Alec's was sitting in the living room. Donna, my bestfriend's mom was crying so loudly that my heart almost broke at that sound. She was agonizing. Rob, her husband was holding onto her, scared she was going to fall apart. I could see he was restraining himself to cry but tears found their way to his cheeks anyway. I didn't see Julia anywhere.
My mom came to me, a sad look on her face.
"Oh honey, I'm so sorry. It's Alec."
She didn't need to add anything else. My heart stopped.
