{III:12} The Kind Of Girl

23 9 27

She was the kind of girl
The kind that ran from love when others fell for it
When others talked about love,
she tried to push it away
Their books were filled with hearts
Hearts and names
Hers were filled with hearts
Cold, empty hearts with an arrow pierced through

While others embraced happiness
She tried to justify why she should be happy
When others cry out sadness
She held it in, till it steeled her heart.
The kind of girl with gates and spikes
Fighting a constant emotional battle
That can never be won.

The kind of girl that poured her soul
Into words severed on ink and paper
Yet even in her darkest moments
She never let's the wall crack
The kind of girl that scorns happiness
Because of its sister sadness.
She was the kind of girl that dared life
Even when she wanted so much out of it.

So when others got drunk on happiness
She drowns in sadness
When others got high on love
She flinches at the thought of it
When others smile in safety
She stiffens in insecurity

Because she is that kind of girl
The one kind of girl
The only kind of girl
The kind of girl
That saw the world for what it was
And still, was blinded by its darkness
Trapped, in the dark side of the moon.
