Scars of the past
Still run deep and fast
Somewhere in my heart
Where it is so dark
That the light of your eyes
Can't even shine through
You say you can make the pain go away
And I say I want it to stay
You try to help me up
But cut me deeper still
That I run away from you
And you try to bring me back
The more you stretch your hand
The farther I move away from you
Till I see it in your eyes
You're confused why I don't want your help
But baby, you ruined me
And you don't remember now
How you cut me deep
And left me bleeding out
The very scars you tried to heal
Honey, you're the one who put them on me
Yet I don't open my mouth
To say it out loud
Cause though you scarred me
Oh baby, made me a map of pain,
Somewhere in my heart
That's bruised and broken
I don't want to hurt you too
Don't want to retell the tale
The tale of my scars,
The story of my bruised body
The extent of my broken heart
And how you were the one
That caused, that drew, that broke
How you are the reason behind
All of my Scars.
