"Nia!" My older brother sang from downstairs in the kitchen. I rolled my eyes because he would always call me just for something stupid, or to tease me about something, or to just say "nothing" and make me walk all the way up the stairs again.

"Coming," I sighed, as I opened the door to my room and walked down the stairs to see my dad, my mom, and Justin in the kitchen.

Justin started to giggle making me super confused as to what his intentions were.

"What do you want, Justin?" I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest, adding a small eye roll to that as well.

"...Nothing," after he said that, he burst out into laughter, making me sigh at how much he always wastes my time.

I begin to walk away, but his laughter subsided.

"No, come on, Nia, I was only joking, come here, we could actually use your help on making Spaghetti. We need to make a lot since Ryan, Chaz, and Christian are coming over," he says, as he pays attention to the way my mom was stirring the pot.

I rolled my eyes because of how annoying they all are when they're together, they always know how to annoy the living shit out of me, and I can never do anything cause it's 4 against 1.

I've always had a crush on Ryan, but he's never known that.

"I know you like Ryan, so you probably wanna go freshen up," Justin laughs, as he slowly grabs the sauce. "But just so you know, my friends are out of bounds. Any boy is out of bounds."

I roll my eyes again as I sigh and walk right next to him. I was barely able to touch the pot before the doorbell rang, letting us know that Justin's friends are here.

"Can you get that, sweetheart?" My mother asks. I nod my head, walking towards the door, opening it to reveal the three boys who all have happy faces.

"Nia! What's up, little sis?" Chaz as he engulfs me in a really sloppy hug, as they let themselves in to greet my dad, Justin and my mom.

"Aye, the boys!" They all say loud as hell.

"Guys, calm down a little, you make my head hurt," My father complains as he continues to read his newspaper.

"Sorry, Papa B," They all laugh. I decided it was time that I see myself out, simply because I felt really awkward around Ryan.

"Well, good talk," I mumbled, about to walk out of the room.

"Hey, you don't have to leave," Ryan smiled as he pulled me back.

I smiled at him and chuckled a bit, mostly because I was really nervous and I didn't know what else to say.

"R-Ryan, lets go watch a movie man," Justin shook something off, which I didn't know what it was.

"Let's go," Ryan smiled, as he was getting up from the stool.

"Nia, don't you have friends to text and gossip about?" Justin asked, kind of rushed, which made me confused as to why he was acting like he wanted me to go away. It wasn't new to me, I mean, I don't want him around me 24/7, he's annoying, but I was simply confused.

"Uh- I mean, I guess, see you," I shrugged. Ryan's face fell as he saw that I wasn't coming with them, I could've sworn that Justin said something to him, but I couldn't pick out what it was.

The boys all went to the living room, while I stayed in the kitchen with my parents.

It didn't even feel like 20 minutes later, that Ryan came back to the kitchen.

"Justin sent me to ask if food was almost ready,"

My mother nodded and told him to tell the boys to come back to the kitchen so that they could eat. Before Ryan could even walk out, the boys come walking in, already hearing what my mother said.

"I love coming here, your mom is an amazing cook," Chaz gushed, sitting in front of my dad, while Ryan sat right next to me.

I saw Justin's jaw clench at Ryan's choice of seat, but he stayed quiet about it.

That was until the boys were about to leave...

"It was nice seeing you, Justin. Hey, Nia, it was really nice seeing you too," Ryan says, as he pulls me in for a hug.

"Okay, that's it," Justin spat, pulling Ryan's arm so that he would get off of me. "Stop hitting on my sister! Out of all girls, you hit on my sister, man, no."

My eyes widened at Justin's reaction. I felt annoyed because this happens with every guy. It doesn't even have to be his friends. I could bring up the fact that I like some guy and Justin would give me countless reasons why not to date him.

He would always argue with the guy if he ever touched me.

"Justin, it was just a hug," I fought back.

"No," he shot. "Hugs turn into shit all the time. I swear to God, Ryan, if I ever see you touching her again, it's endgame for the both of us. Our friendship will be over. Do you understand?"

Ryan's eyebrows were furrowed in confusion as he was witnessing Justin's reactions.

"Okay, Justin, calm down, the hug was innocent," Chaz calmly says, as he slowly pulls Ryan back.

"Do you wanna hop out of my life too?" Justin glared at Chaz. He sighs as he begins to walk out the door, along with Christian trailing behind them.

I scoff as I cross my arms over my chest, waiting for an explanation as to why he was being so crazy.

"What is wrong with you?" I ask.

Justin rolled his eyes.

"Boys are what's wrong with me, Nia. I'm a guy, I know what shit runs through their minds, because I have thoughts like that whenever I meet a girl that I find super attractive. But I also know that those thoughts could get me in trouble, and I can hurt them in so many ways that maybe they won't ever get over," he shrugged. "I don't want some dick to walk into your life and hurt you like that. Especially one of my friends. If Ryan hurt you, I would never be able to talk to him again. It's you over anyone, Nia."

My body relaxes at the way he was so caring about this, how he was so caring about me. She wasn't trying to be your typical annoying older brother, he was just being a protective older brother.

"I'm sorry," I breathed. "I wasn't trying to be a bitch, Jay."

He nodded and smiled at me as he pulled me in for a hug.

"I just want you to be happy. You're my little sister, you should be protected at all times,"

I chuckled and hugged him as tight as I could. It was nice, since we never hug, we usually wrestle.

"Now, time to wrestle," he smirked.
