"When Justin comes home, look cute," I smiled at my new addition to mine and Justin's home. We are currently fostering about 3 boys, Luke, Jason and Trenton, in which we've enrolled them in different sports that they enjoy. I've always wanted to adopt a kid, as well as have my own. I always wanted to help kids that were in need. I got my foster license a couple of months ago and I was all set to start bringing in kids. Justin wasn't too fond of it, simply because he wanted his own kids, but he knew it made me happy to help others.
"Who's Justin?" Elena, my foster child, asked.
"My boyfriend," I responded. Elena nodded her head and raised her eyebrows.
"So the one that doesn't want me, right?" She asked, attitude spilling out of her voice. My face fell and I looked down.
"W-what do you mean?" I asked. She chuckled sarcastically and tilted her head.
"There's always that one person that doesn't actually want the foster kid and they're only going through with it because the other is," she explained. I stayed silent because she explained exactly what was going on.
"Elena... Listen, it's not that Justin doesn't want you-"
"He doesn't though," she interrupted.
"He just isn't fond with the amount of foster kids we are currently fostering," I sighed. She rolled her eyes and nodded.
I heard the front door open, and in walked Justin.
"Hey, baby," he said as he walked into the kitchen, automatically turning his head towards Elena. Confusion spread onto his face, and he looked at me. "And... Who's this?" he smiled slightly at her. I hesitated before I introduced her.
"This is Elena," I smiled. Elena smiled in only one corner of her mouth and she gave him a wave.
"Hi, Elena..." Justin's voice trailed off. I smiled awkwardly, as the quick silence was broken by Elena.
"I'm gonna go brush my teeth and get ready for bed, nice to meet you, pop star," she whispered, as she got up and disappeared from the room.
Justin turned to look at me and waited for me to speak. He leaned against the counter and crossed his arms.
"So..." he said, as he shrugged his shoulder.
"Justin, before you get mad-"
"Oh, I'm not mad, Y/N, I'm annoyed," he interrupted me and placed his hands on the table.
"Annoyed? But, Justin-"
"I thought we said no more kids after the 3rd boy we brought home," He said. I sighed and placed my hand on my temples. "We're starting to look like the Brady Bunch," He sighed. I smiled a little, he knew I loved the Brady Bunch. But his face didn't brighten whatsoever, his face stayed the same. "We're not... the Brady Bunch," he finished, leaving me alone in the kitchen. I sighed and looked up. I was interrupted by Elena.
"I told you," she shrugged.
"I know... I know..." I said. She came up to me and placed her arm on my shoulder.
"You'll get through this, I'll get through this, he'll get over it for as long as you have me," she smiled. I looked down at her and put her hair behind her ear and pulled her in for a hug.
"Y/N, what did you make for dinner?" I heard Justin call. Elena looked back and ran back to the bathroom. I wiped away a tear that managed to fall out of my eyes.
"Uhm... I didn't make any," I said. Justin stared me down, as I put the dishes I washed the night before back into their spot. He scoffed and sat down at the table.
"Did you pick up the boys from sports practice at least?" he asked.
"Justin, I picked up Elena," I said. He knew it was his turn to pick up the boys - i mean, I think it was... Justin shook his head and rubbed his forehead.
"It was your turn," he said, taking out his phone and calling the coaches. I knew he was even more pissed so I decided to get on with dinner. A few minutes have passed and Justin strolled back into the kitchen. "Their coaches all offered to drop them off," he said, bluntly. I nodded my head and looked up at him. His jaw clenched, and his fist was tight.
"Justin, please don't be mad," I said, as my upper body slouched.
"I'm not fucking mad, Y/N. It just pisses me off how you think we can save all of them. Like we're some kind of charity home for the needy and helpless, come to Y/N and Justin's home where we bring in every single kid in need!" He mocked. I scoffed and set the knife I had in my hand down on the table.
"Excuse me? I know we can't save them all, Justin, I'm aware of that, but I want to save as many kids as we can!" I yelled. Justin got up and paced back and forth.
"We're fostering 3 boys, Y/N! I was okay with Luke coming in, I was also okay with Jason, I was okay with Trenton, but I thought that was enough!" He argued back.
"They're all going to be gone soon!" I cried.
"What the fuck do you mean they're gonna be gone soon?" He stopped dead in his tracks.
"I think another family wants them," I whispered.
"No," he said. "No they can't have them."
"Actually, they can, Justin. We've been fostering them for a while and haven't showed any interest to them that we're signing any adoption papers, it's time for them to leave soon," I explained. Justin slowly sat down, and put his head in his hands. He shook his head and closed his eyes. His face getting redder by the second.
"No, that can't happen, I won't let that happen," he said. I stopped and thought. I knew they rubbed off on him, I knew that they meant something to him.
"Justin..." I heard Elena say. Justin opened his eyes slowly, and his eyes trailed to her.
"Yes, sweetheart, is everything okay?" He said, sniffling.
"Everything's fine. Can I ask you something?" Justin nodded and turned his body to face her.
"Why are you so mad that I'm here?" She asked as she looked down. Justin sniffled once more and got up, walking towards her.
"I'm not mad that you're here, Elena," he said, cupping her face. She looked up at him and smiled, but then to have her face drop again.
"So why are you mad that Y/N brought me home?" Justin's face dropped and he looked at me. He looked at her again and began to speak.
"I'm not mad that she brought you home, cutie, I'm overwhelmed," he sighed.
"People always are, but the boys seemed to have made an impact on you," she chuckled. Justin smiled.
"They did, they're something else," he chuckled.
"I hope I can make you feel that happy too," she whispered. Justin immediately fell in love with her. He pulled her in for a hug and kissed her cheek.

After that day, he fell more in love with Elena everyday, he would take her out, go shopping with her, watch movies with her, they were an inseparable pair.
