"Before I was selected to be your partner for The Outsiders's project, did you know who I was?" He asked thoughtful as they strolled along the fair grounds. The sky around them had turned a dark midnight shade and bitter wind bite at their skin. Too busy in their own little world, they paid little attention to it all.
She contemplated telling him a lie. Whispering that all she knew was his name and nothing more, but when the time came to talk, the truth fell out.
"Yea. I've known who you were for a couple years."
"So why haven't you talked to me or you know..."
Instead of answering, she flipped his words on him. "Why haven't you ever said hi?"
He shook his head at her in disbelief and his shaggy bangs fell into his eyes. "Truth?"
"Always."
"I was scared."
"Of me?"
"Yes, but if we're being technical I'd say your reaction."
She nodded her head in understand. "That's the reason I've never approached you either."
