After my first encounter with the none dying skeleton, I kept visiting him. His name was only on my list, meaning I didn't have to worry about Paps finding him.
I just bugged him and flirted, it was cute how he got annoyed and flustered so easily. Then... My soul started beating fast every time he blushed, or even talked to me! I... I just love it...
I was on my way to opening the portal to Geno, when my bro stopped me.
"I hope you're taking care of your list, brother. I don't want to pick up your slack now! You know what that means!" He shouted, storming off a second later to catch up on a month's worth of sleep.
"Shit." I swore, pulling out my list. I had about fifty new names, and that was today!
I groaned under my breath, but opened a portal to the dead souls. I wanted to do this quickly.
"W-Who a-are you..." The poor monster asked, their soul near shattering.
"Just someone who's here to help you." I whispered, holding out my hand.
The monster took it, their body finally dust as their white soul appeared in my hand. I placed the soul in my scythe so I could go get more souls.
I did this over and over until my weapon was heavier than it should be. Once it was done, I lead the glowing blue ones up to Heaven's gate. Then I set the good souls free. They were surprised to see the gates of Heaven, but went in none the less.
I scurried down to Hell, releasing the poor souls deep inside so they won't escape. Once done, I went back to the list, making sure that I didn't need to do more.
Nope! I still had about three thousand more than I should. This was going to be a long week.
Two weeks went by and I finally caught up to my work. Paps let me go to my room and sleep for a bit, knowing that I hadn't worked as hard as I did.
Four hours later, I was up, drank a crap ton of coffee so I could stay awake. Then I made a portal to the SAVE screen. I only took a few steps in and the portal snapped shut behind me, when a small mass of bones tackled me into a hug.
"Geno baby?" I asked, looking down at the sobbing skeleton.
The crying skeleton held me tightly, afraid to let me go. I sighed, picking him up, holding him carefully. I didn't want to hurt him more than he was in.
"Sshh... It's okay, I'm here now..."
"W-Why weren't y-you h-here?" He weakly clung to me, his one eye looking up into my voids.
"I just had work... Now why don't we get some sleep?"
Geno nodded, passing out already. I smiled lightly... I liked this mortal, they were... Something new and different from everyone else... They had... They had really missed me when I wasn't here like I usually was... They cared about me...
