Jamie and Dana couldn't help but gasp at the scene unleashing itself in their downstairs bathroom. Their sobbing teenage daughter who held the ice-pack against her eye as Steven and the purple haired girl spoke soothingly.

"What's going on?" Jamie couldn't help but yell, her voice escalating as she moved to the blue haired female.

"Vera got into a fight with some girl down at the res." Steven explained, watching as Jamie took the ice-pack off her daughter's face.

"My lord." She gasped, looking at her husband who fumbled with his dark hair. His blue eyes softening on his daughter. "Dana call the cops." She commanded, pressing a chaste kiss to her daughter's forehead.

"Dad, no! I'm really fine, you should see her."

"I don't need to see her to know you're hurt Vera." Jamie scolded, as she pressed her hand to her lips, and quickly left the room. Dana inhaled deeply before looking to the other two teenagers.

"Steven why don't you drive your friend home." He decided after a moment.

"Of course dad." He gestured back to the front door that was just beyond the half-bath. Silence echoed in the house for a few moments before Dana sighed, and grabbed the ice-pack off her eye once more.

"You need to make sure you keep this on most of the night. It's the only way that the bruising will go down." He informed her.

"I know dad." Vera muttered, but saw the look in his eyes.

"What-"

"I don't even want to talk about it." Vera responded over him, but the same look resonated that told her she had to tell him regardless what she wanted.

"Just some guy I met-"

"Did he-"

"No like Steven said some girl and I got in a fight. Turns out he had a girlfriend, and she thought I was trying to get with him." Vera grumbled, her hand resting over her eye as she held the ice-pack back to her face. The cool making goosebumps form over her arms.

"Vera, Vera. What are we going to do with you?" Dana questioned, leaning beside her on the counter.

"I really don't know, at this point I'm going to assume that trouble finds me."

"Trouble finds the two of us Vera." Dana responded, laughing lowly as the girl gave him a look.

"First I created it, and then I created you. Which subsequently led to the trouble that is in our lives." Vera laughed at this, pushing her father's shoulder as he rubbed his temples.

"Mom-"

"She's just worried, she just doesn't want anything to happen, like what happened-"

"No, I get it." Vera cut him off, the flashback physically making her stomach turn. Vera didn't really fight much, the last, and only other time she really had, had resulted in her in the hospital. And the threat of her falling into a coma. Along with the mild case of amnesia she had gotten once she awoke from it.

"Why don't you go shower, and head to bed kiddo." He urged, and watched the young female hop off the counter, wiping the remaining tears off her face.

"I love you dad." She hugged him warmly, as her father patted her back.

"Yes, I love you too, but you better hurry I trust Steven will fight you for the shower once he gets back." Dana murmured, leaving the teen to exit the bathroom, and hurry up the stairs. Steven, and Vera's room was connected by the bathroom space shared in between. Her room was a simple yellow color, not yet painted from the previous owners, while Steven's was a dark blue. That he had taken the liberty of throwing on himself. The uneven gleam of the paint was evident enough that the boy had done it all on his own. Vera chuckled darkly to herself as she closed the door, remembering the look on her mother's face. Jamie Copeland was not one to go against. But Steven and her mother were too much alike for them to not challenge each other. The warm water hit against the girl's back, relaxing her as she rubbed soap over her body, and massaged her face wash into her pores, trying to rid the makeup that was slinking down her face.

Her head was swarming with his face. The tan russet features, his uneven hair. The dark brown of his eyes.

Even now he was handsome. His imperfections seemingly beautiful. It made Vera drown herself under the moltant water. Her blue eyes stinging from the pressure, and forcing her pale hands to rub in a circular motion over the closed lids. When she removed her hands, she shut the water off.  Wrapping a towel firmly around her torso, and facing the steamy mirror. Using the back of her hand she rubbed the heat away, and faced the raccoon eyes of herself. The slight bruising under one eye more prominent over the makeup. Vera used her remover, pushing the excess liner, and mascara off her eyes, and staring at the reflection.

It seemed idiotic to her. Bothering to fight over some guy who she did not know. Some insignificant guy she had never originally gotten along with. Vera decided right than that she should never consort with Sam Uley again, because in all honesty that boy caused too much trouble. And for some peculiar reason, Vera hated this trouble he was involved in.
