Chapter 20: Spending Time with Her
Antonia at home taking care of Amaya while getting her school work done and Michael was at his job interview.
"Who's mommy's favorite?....you are" Antonia said as tickled little Amaya's chin.
Amaya started to smile a little.
"I love you" she said to Amaya as she got back to doing her school work.
[Someone knocks at the door.]
"I'm coming" Antonia said as she came downstairs to the front door.
[Antonia walks to the front door and opens it]
"Hey sweetie" Antonia's mom said as she came in the door.
"Hey mom" Antonia said as she went upstairs to grab Amaya and her bottle.
[Antonia walks downstairs with Amaya in her hands.]
"Hi chunky mama" Antonia's mom said as she grabbed Amaya out of Antonia's hand.
"Say hi grandma" Antonia told Amaya.
Amaya look at Antonia's mom.
"I remember when you were this size" she said.
"I know,I remember that one time I drew all over the walls,I made you so mad but happy because of my beautiful smile" Antonia said.
"Yeah,that bring back memories" her mom said as she laughed.
"Mom,where was my dad then?" she asked.
"He left 2 days after you were born and he never came back" Antonia's mom said with a sad look on her face.
"Why?" Antonia asked.
"Well,when I was pregnant with you he was so happy but then it was like when I had you he didn't want to stand up and be a father." her mother said.
"I'm sorry Mom that had to happen to you" Antonia said.
"It's okay now that your almost grown up and now your taking care of your child." her mom.
"Mom I love you so much" she said as hugged her.
"I love you too" Antonia's mom said as she wiped her tears.
"Okay let me go home" she said.
"Ok mom" Antonia said as she grabbed Amaya and put her in her crib.
Skip to dinner....
"How was the job interview?" Antonia asked as she ate her shrimp alfredo.
"It was good,I'm supposed to start working next week." Michael said.
"That's good" she said.
"You know my birthday is next month,are you planning on getting me something?" she said after.
"Yeah,something that you would really like" he said.
"Can't wait" Antonia said as she finished her plate.
[Amaya started crying]
"Let me go upstairs" Antonia said as she got up from the table and went upstairs to Amaya's room.
In Amaya's room...
"Aww what's wrong...okay that's nice,you need your diaper changed." she said.
[Antonia changes Amaya's and puts on a another diaper]
Amaya stopped crying once her diaper was changed.
"Now your all fresh and clean" Antonia said as she put gave Amaya her pacifier.
[Antonia walks downstairs with Amaya and her bottle ]
"Hey princess" Michael said as he put his plate in the dishwasher.
