Tying the ribbons to her horns tighter, she left the store to go outside and see why he was so quiet. Outdoors the flames and devastation were still going but now the day was ending "Hey Alex! Where are you hiding!?" She shouted to the landscape of emptiness

"*whistle*"

The diclonius sharpened her eyes on hearing the whistle and two vectors were ready on her sides

"Psst! I'm over here" Alex called with a waving hand "You done? You took your time!" He scolded as he was on top of a telephone pole looking around, in a quick glaze that did not make him focus on what she was wearing

A tick mark sprouted from her forehead "Well yeah! I'm going to be running around so like hell I'm gonna run naked for your entertainment" she teased while flicking one of her ribbons

'I'M NOT GOING TO- entertain... My... Uh ...right?' Alex went red under his hoody hearing that and was almost provoked to jump over there to give a piece of his mind but when his gaze snapped to her

"Ooooh- AH SHIT!" Alex cursed as his hand slipped from the grip he had on the top of the pole. Gravity pulled him and he fell on his ass that made him lose the argument

In a quick loud bang he fell to the concrete and he felt the need to slap himself good.

Lucy vector-jumped to Alex's side and picked him up using the rest of her disembodied hands "See? Pervert to the extreme. Who knew that about you huh?" Lucy flicked his chin with a finger of her own

The prototype rubbed his chin and looked at Lucy. She was way different than when he found her.

'Man, she really swung from that mood to this new healthy one fast. Maybe all that was needed all along was someone to hear her, someone who could relate and gone through what she had been stuck in for quite some time' he theorized seeing Lucy enjoy the sun on her. Very rare occasion he has seen her smile in relief

Sitting on the concrete, she turned backwards to see him watching quietly at herself or something in the debris "So what do we do? We kinda hit a dead end for now don't you think?" She asked curiosly. He was the expert at this kind of thing she supposed

The troops and limited weapons told Alex that they wanted to remain secret, so that meant that their attacks would be in surprise kinda like this one. The tracking device he had was already destroyed thanks to a rough scrap out with the SS but either way the signal was long gone since. Literally all they could do was wait and be ready

"Well, we wait for now. We scared them good for some time so... I guess relax some more? We can search for clues were these guys are in..? Well I can find that out when we get some place safe. So we just lay back that's my guess" Alex answered with a thud by sitting beside her

Sirens were growing in the distance a little closer, but nowhere in the vicinity yet. Those bastards must have this covered good for delaying help and making a perimeter guessed Alex by hearing the echo. Something told him that they were holding some major federal power back and this was some kind of test run. That was a scary thought enough to make him sharpen his gaze over the mayhem stillness in the city block.

Lucy stretched her legs and side glanced the prototype "Well so much for the detective side of you." She groaned feeling tired from running and attacking after some much time. It was good to use the muscles she thought would never again be able to move but at the same time it was a pain "Then let's find some place and figure out what we do tomorrow"
