I sat in my room on my laptop. "And posted" I said posting the YouTube video. It was 12 am and I had school in the morning. I wasn't really tired. I laid down and put my earbuds in and listened to music. A song came on, as I listened to it it reminded me of Collins. "When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go
And when God takes you back we'll say Hallelujah
You're home"
Tears filled my eyes, and I grabbed the key around my neck. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes.
Next thing I knew I heard my alarm going off. I looked at my phone. "I'm late!" I screamed. I hoped out of bed. Grabbed my bag and keys and got in the car. I drove to school as fast as I could. My eyes were red and swollen from the night before. I walked in the school and ran to class. "I'm so sorry I'm late, it's been a rough week." I told the teacher. She looked me in the eyes and gave me a hug. "It's ok Devan. Go take a seat" she said smiling. It was nice to know that someone cared, and it was
nice to be loved. I sat in class, my eyes tried so hard to stay open. The bell rang and I sat there while I waited for everyone to leave. The teacher came over and sat in the chair next to me, "you need to talk?" She asked with her sweet caring eyes. "What's wrong?" She asked. "My brother... he passed away last week." I said trying to hold back tears. She didn't say anything. She stood up and hugged me. "I know how you feel Devan. My sister died when I was about your age. And I know it's hard, I'm so sorry." She said. I looked at her and smiled. "I should probably go to my next class, see you tomorrow." I said leaving the room.
I walked down the halls. I saw him, he didn't hurt me. "That was weird." I thought.
I went to my history class and sat there, listening to the teacher blabber about the French Revolution. She went into detail. I doodled in my notebook so I could stay awake. I heard a knock on the door but I figured it was just a teacher or student. I felt a tap on my shoulder. I looked up...

"Collins?!?" I screamed. I jumped out of my chair and hugged my brother for the longest time, sobbing. "H-how?!" I asked crying tears of joy. "Devan I promised you that everything was going to be ok. Didn't I?"
"Yes you did..."
"And I never break my promises." He said smiling at me. I hugged him again. We were both sobbing. I don't know how this is possible, he was dead...
