Let's go into the area where you can alter book details and chapters. Wattpad definitely does a good job of giving you redundant links to do a lot of the same things, so if you forget one exists that's okay. I rarely actually use the continue writing button, I almost always go into the book via the title.
This area can be intimidating at first glance, but it's really not. It's broken down into two tabs, Story Details and Table of contents. For now I'll focus on table of contents. This is exactly as it seems, it's a list of all of your chapters in that book. Published and unpublished.
The rounded up stats are available for each chapter, but unlike on the profile you can't hover over these numbers to get the exact stats. It has the date that the chapter published, which changes depending on how often you edit it after it was published. If you edit the chapter daily then the date will change daily after you hit publish changes.
The lines next to each chapter are the same as the lines next to the books. Dragging that up and down will move your chapter up and down within the book. Whenever you move a chapter around, remember to save it otherwise you'll lose where you moved the chapter to.
The ... is also the same as the one next to the book. It allows you to unpublish that chapter, view it as a reader, or delete it entirely.
To the left of your chapter list is the cover, view as reader, and more options to share your book on social media. Hovering over the circle with the pencil will give you the button to change your cover.
This is how you'd upload a new cover or create one using Wattpad's cover creator. I'm going to talk about how to create a cover in it's own chapter.
If you want to add a new chapter to your book, you'd click on New part.
