For the author: The_Heart_Collector
.
How long have you been writing?
-I’ve been writing ever since I was eight, but never officially started writing story, stories until the Summer of 2010.
.
What inspired you to write first?
-My Mother. I was always telling her I was bored, so she’d be like, “Go do something, write something.” And so I did and I already had an active imagination.
.
What do you like best about writing Five’s a Crowd?
-Honestly, everything. I mean, it’s the first time I’m working on a story with other girls, let alone five. It’s really cool and doing a guy’s POV is pretty awesome and tricky, I like that I have to work at it, so the POV and situations are realistic.
.
What is your writing process?
-My writing process is random. There is no writing script, no list of details that I should add in the story. I just open the Word doc and start typing.
.
Do you have any advice for other writers?
-My best advice would be to always have a second pair of eyes looking at your work because you could have the greatest plot known to man and still have a cruddy story if you’re not up for ‘perfecting’ your writing.
.
Current/future projects besides Five’s a Crowd?
-Well, we (me and the other girls writing F.A.C.) are thinking about doing a reverse spin of this story, so if you like Five’s a Crowd, you’ll love the reverse!
.
Questions for your Character:
.
So who are you?
-Keagan Thomas, a seventeen year old troublemaker with the dream of one day attending the Academy of Art Institute in San Francisco.
.
Where were you born?
-I wouldn't know. I'm not exactly sure where I came from. All I know is that I've lived in Carendale, California since I was five.
.
Where do you live now?
-Carendale, California with my stepbrother, Duck Thomas and father, Hale Thomas.
.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
-I want to be an artist, a painter, a designer. I want to create what others forget exist in life.
.
Who is your role model?
-I have no role model. Ever since I was a kid I was abused, I lost that sense of looking up to someone, but the closest person I do have to a role model would be my high school counselor, Mrs. Valen. No matter what I say, how many times I mess up…she’s there. She makes my existence on this Earth count for something.
.
Are you in a relationship?
-Believe it or not, I may play the part of a bad boy and womanizer, but truthfully…I’ve never been in a relationship. I don’t…trust.
.
What traits do you find most attractive in another?
-I like a girl that’s not afraid to be funny and take life seriously. My life may be messed up, but I’d like a girl that’s never been broken, but understands how to tame a beast that just wants to be fed, if that makes sense.
.
What traits do you find most unattractive in another?
-I find it unattractive when looks are the only thing she cares about or trying to be on top and control of everything. Girls like that…immediately turn me off.
.
What is your favorite book?
-Even though I put up a front that I don’t read at all, it’s not true. My favorite book is Sybil by Flora Rheta Schreiber. It’s a challenging book to get through and I like that; it also creates a little controversy and who’s not up for that?
.
What is your motto?
-You may think that the world is crushing down on your shoulders now, but someday you’ll realize, it was all you.
