Prologue
Man, we not doing so good.
Mom, dad, grandma, Bucky, and I. We were living off of scraps of food and barely any heat to warm us during the winter.
I knew I was gonna need an afternoon job to help support my family. Bucky being only 7 and grandma 67, we needed as much money as we could get.
"Mom," I sat next to her on the reddish brown couch, "I think I'm gonna pick up a job in the afternoon. Just to get a few extra bucks..."
She looked at me with a certain look in her eyes that told me she wished I didn't have to do this.
"Okay baby. I love you.." She wrapped her lanky arms around me and kissed the side of my head.
A hug full of passion.
"I love you too mom... so much." I truly meant it. I love my mom, dad, Bucky my brother, and my grandma. I'd never leave them. Ever.
