Chapter Five
'Leaving'

Lucy closed her eyes and held her breath. Her keys jingled against the wind and she kept replaying the same scene over again.
"Who was he?" She questioned herself.
That pink hair, onyx eyes, that smile and the determination.
It all felt familiar to her.
She looked at her right hand and saw that it was now empty.
"You quite the guild...." A voice asked. Lucy turned to see Gajeel.
"Yeah...I don't belong here.."
Gajeel nodded and smirked.
"Don't get hurt out there...Layla.."
Lucy smiled softly.
"I promise...and you better stay out of trouble.." Gajeel laughed and shook his head.
"We all know that won't happen."
Lucy shook her head and walked away from the guild.
She needed to see him one more time and demand answers.

"Natsu look out!" Lucy screamed.
Natsu wasn't paying attention instead he was trying to free happy from the trap. Lucy ran towards him and shoved him away from the spike hurling towards him. Natsu opened his eyes and saw Lucy pull it out with no hesitation.
"No lu....Lucy..." Natsu whispered.
This pain was more horrible then when Lisanna died....
"Lucy!" He ran towards her and caught her before she fell.
"It's a change isn't it?" She whispered weakly. Natsu looked at her confused.
"What does she mean.." He wondered to himself.
"I protected you this time..."
"Don't worry Luce Wendy is coming." Natsu reassured her.
"Natsu I'm sorry..." Natsu looked down and saw her guild mark slowly disappearing.
"No Lucy I'm not letting you die!"
"It's ok Natsu I wasn't a burden this time right? I helped you..." Coughing up blood she smiled weakly.
"No Luce please don't go." Natsu said holding on to her. " I promised..."
"Natsu promises are meant to be broken....don't worry I'll be fine...." Natsu felt Lucy get colder by the second.
"Goodbye....Natsu..." Lucy Said before letting eternal darkness take over, The pink guild mark that was on her hand disappeared silently and left no evidence that she was part of any guild at all.
"Lucy!"

Natsu quickly jerked up clutching his chest.
"Why Lucy?" He whispered feeling a tear slip down.
