Chapter 2

All night I attempted to make conversation with Elrin but was sorely disappointed by his

non-responsiveness. Seriously, I’m starting to think this guy is just a pretty face with not much going on upstairs.

God, I can’t stand superficial people, here’s hoping he is just shy. After slamming down my 8th

drink I knew it was time to go home. My head was swaying slightly and I couldn’t walk a straight line

even if you paid me too.

After peering around the room I saw Stacey locked lips with the oh so sexy Luke…well I guess I’m

driving home alone tonight. I started to wander towards the door before I felt a hand tugging at my

arm.Whipping around I came face to face with Elrin and his gorgeous eyes giving me an amused

expression.

“And where do you think you’re going?”

“Isn’t it obvious? Home…”

“You can barely walk straight, no way am I letting you drive. Now hand over your keys and I’ll drive you home.”

“No way! I am perfectly capable of driving...plus I’ve driven way drunker before and look, here I am

alive and well, so thanks but no thanks” I responded turning back towards the door.

Rushing out of the house, my face was met with a cool gentle breeze slowing helping clear my

foggy thoughts. I was about to reach my car when I was gently pushed against the driver side door.

A cool toned body was pressed against my back, giving me instant goosebumps.

“Please let me take you home…” Elrin whispered in my ear.

My heart was pounding so hard at the close proximity of his body to mine. I slowly turned around to

be met with his sincere face, I could feel myself caving. But my rational side told me that I couldn’t

let him drive me home …he was a stranger. He could be some crazed murderer or rapist for all I

knew.

Still lost in my thoughts I felt a hand gently caress my cheek. My skin tingling as his fingers slowly

stroked my face.

“Please Elbereth…”

“Fine then…here!” I said shoving my keys in his hands wanting some space from him.

I couldn’t think clearly with him so close to me and the alcohol running through my bloodstream

wasn’t helping either. I hopped into the passenger seat and out of the corner of my eye saw Elrin

with a slight grin on his face. Humph…he may have won this battle but he won’t win the war I

thought mischievously.

He turned the car on and looked up at me expectantly “Where to my lady?”

Unable to stop myself from grinning at his quirky ways I responded “13 Holloway.”
