Poetry Camp (February)
Fox-Trot-9Day 15: Cupid's Reply
"I never gave a wish without me giving
Th' ability to make to make that wish come true,"
So says the god of love, "but not in living
Within the bounds of rhyme to act one's due.
You are the player playing out the tale
Of your own life with every breath you take;
So take a look around and lift the veil
That clouds your eyes; the very life you make
Requires an action stronger than a rhyme;
A poet's more than just a rhyming smith
Of words; he looks on storms and braves the climb
Towards a most uncertain fate forthwith:
So take up arms of truth and mail of valor,
And fight the gallant fight for life and honor!"(To be continued . . .)
A/N: Here's another sonnet gleaning from the world of Greek mythology!
