Ruby Roberts-Manson carefully unlocked the metal door to her house, unlocking the second door and stepping inside. Her small hands ran through her long black hair as she closed the door behind her with a loud sigh. She looked over to the framed photo of her grandfather tiredly.  The loud clank of her bag and coat being dropped on her kitchen table echoed through the empty space. After her long day working at The Butchery On Main, she wasn't entirely sure if she wanted to go out and fulfill her bloodlust, or just go rest.

Ruby walked into her living room, sitting on her black sectional couch and turning on the news channel, attempting to see if anything would sway her decision. She looked around her greyscale house while waiting for the news station to turn on. Things felt dull for Ruby Manson, she was fulfilled with her second life but not so much with her first one, the one she lived daily, Ruby Roberts. There was other killers in town, a cult. Trump ran the country, and the only thing that seemed to make sense was Kai Anderson running for town council. The one thing that gave her a true sense of pride was seeing the news report her murders, and the police scramble to find out who committed them.

Ruby lit a black candle on her coffee table and rest her hands in her hair impatiently. The framed photos of her grandfather Charles Manson, and her father Matthew Roberts seemed to be staring back at her. She just wanted some excitement, but she wasn't really entirely sure how to scratch the metaphorical itch that was bothering her. Her head turned eagerly to her flatscreen tv as she heard the male news anchor 'Bob' briefly talk about some daily events. Ruby scratched her shoulder, adjusting her long sleeve top in anticipation as the man announced Beverly's segment.

"I'm Beverly Hope, and I am standing in front of yet another home affected by these unsolved murders terrorizing this town. The Arnold family was found dead in their home this evening with the same circular mark found near the bodies-" This was all she needed to hear, with another loud frustrated sigh she muted the tv, heading down to her basement.

The house was something she had inherited from her foster care parents. Her real father was a Los Angeles DJ named Matthew Roberts. After Matthew found out who his biological father was he set Ruby up for adoption, hoping her foster parents could provide a life with a less horrific backstory for her. Matthew was an adopted baby, and 41 years into his life the worst two possible things happened to him. He found out his father was Charles Manson, and he got some random woman pregnant. As soon as Ruby was placed in a loving Michigan home, her foster care parents began setting up a fund so Ruby could buy herself a house at 18.  Ruby found out Matthew was her father shortly after she turned 18, she also found out who her grandfather was. It made a lot of sense to her, she always felt like things were dull and that she had some sort of life she should've been living. She had a superiority complex she couldn't admit to and some of the thoughts in her head made complete sense to her, but no sense to others. With the knowledge of her father, grandfather, and gruesome past, she wanted to make her grandfather proud.

Ruby slipped on her leather jacket, quickly tying her long hair back into a messy bun. The human flesh of her fingerless gloves squeaked against her skin as she pulled them on. The gloves concealed her hands and wrists, leaving the tips of her fingers free to show off her black acrylic claws. She had to give some originality to her appearance and technique compared to other local murderer otherwise, what fun would it be? Impatiently walking over to the table in front of her, Ruby pulled her black ski mask over her face. Closing her eyes as she breathed in deeply, it made her feel close to her grandfather in a strange way. She wondered if he would be proud of her following in his footsteps and continuing his plans, the way they should've been done the first time. With Charles in mind she grabbed her lucky knife and strategically made her way out of her house to search for the victim she had in mind.

⍟ ⍟ ⍟ ⍟

It was the next day, the sky was grey and it was raining off an on, but Ruby was in a content mood. Little did she know today was the day she will finally have met her match. Kai watched the news channel blankly as he listened to Beverly report her newest accomplishment. His eyebrow twitched as he angrily threw the remote. Who was this killer? Charles Manson was one of Kai's personal idols, and Kai knew every little thing about helter skelter, the Manson family, and everything surrounding it. Kai felt an abundance of emotions as he thought about the competition in town. There was no way it could be the real Charles Manson. So who exactly was this copycat? Kai thought that the words 'Death To Pigs' that was written somewhere in every crime scene was frustrating. Anyone currently still associated with the Manson Family would never leave such a mark, and especially not with their own fingernail which the cops had decided the marks came from.

He needed to find this 'New' Manson, he wasn't sure if he wanted them to join him, or if he wanted them dead. Kai had many questions for this copycat of the man he has researched and been intrigued with for so long. The competition made him feel angry, confused, upset, and he wanted to know the truth about them. All of Kai's 'Cult' followers were set to show up later for a meeting, and he was ready to put whatever mission they had on hold. He was going to find Manson. He had to find Manson.
