Virgil's POV

"Could you ever possibly forgive me?", her arms folded, propping up against her chest with her eyes nowhere towards my direction. Is she that anxious to ask for my acceptance? That's my job.

"Y/n," I groan, sitting up from my bed and sitting at the very edge of it with my legs crossed. Slouching my shoulders while I faced her apprehensive features, I continue. "Why do you think that I wouldn't forgive you?"

Her eyes grew wide at my words. This sudden change in expression made a brow raise to my face. "Really? Wow, I-". Eyelids blinking excessively as she then furrowed her brows. "How are you this forgiving? After everything I have said to you? Done to you? Even threatened you?". Seeing her becoming a mess in front of my eyes hurt me but, this also comes along with a lot of guilt she must be feeling.

Why with the sudden change of thought towards me?

"Of course, I forgive you. People change, things change. Just, this is not a p-prank, is it?". My lips thinned. Maybe this whole time, this was a prank. I mean, after all, she is good at acting since she had been around Thomas a lot. Maybe even everyone else is pranking me, or pretending to be my friend just because they feel bad.

A drop to my stomach made me look down to the wooden floorboards beneath us. The floorboards creaked, making my bed tumble just slightly until I saw her figure squatting below me. Looking down into her bright eyes, she flashed a quick smile to me.

"Don't think that this is one of my pranks, alright?", her voice soft and laced with comfort.

It warmed my heart to hear and see her treating me like this. After all, I would never expect anything like this or- anything as beautiful as her would give me any gratitude. Hints why I'm still slightly keeping my guard up to make sure I don't get hurt again.

"So, uhm.." Y/n puzzled at her words as she sat directly onto the cool floor. Wetting her lips, she slouched as well and then met my gaze. "Are we friends? Or, can we try to be?" She thinned her lips, anticipating on my response.

Should I give her a chance? Yes, I love the girl. Quite frankly, I am fond by her appearance, her attitude, the way she treats other, other than me, of course. Y/n in general is probably the only reason why I'm not fully broken. Without her, who else would I turn to? Even if it was just like talking to a brick wall.

At least now, when I talk to her, it'll feel like I'm talking to an actual person.

"H-hi, I'm Virgil," I extend my hand out towards her direction, making her brows narrowed and eyes widened. "Nice to m-meet you?".

Once she understood my motives, she chuckled ever so faintly and extended her hand out as well, welcoming herself to the grasp of my palm. SHaking it up and down subtly, she let out a small grin and bowed her head.

"I'm Y/n," she introduces. Though, I can tell her face getting slightly red on her complexion. And to be honest, I could also feel my cheeks heating brightly.

Was it out of embarrassment? Or was it more?
