Gus rocked impatiently in the hard plastic chair.

He looked around.

A nurse turned to look in his direction.

He smiled awkwardly and waved.

Gus walked around plenty of times to antagonize the Register Nurses. He must have circled like fifty times around all of the chairs before a nurse finally came by.

"Elenanor Ryden."

Gus rushed to the nurse.

He almost tripped.

She seemed startled.

"Calm down sir, we don't want another injury, now, do we?"

Gus frowned. "What happened?"

"The surgery went well. She is now back in her room."

"Can I see her?"

The nurse shook her head. "The doctor is with her right now, he's checking her responses to the surgery."

"Responses? I thought it had gone well! I mean, you said it did!"

"Sir-"

"YOU LIED TO ME. THIS IS ALL A LIE! I NEED TO SEE MY DAUGHTER!"

"Sir, you need to calm down, sir!"

Gus sat back down.

"I will inform you sir, when visiting hours become available."

Gus nodded.

The nurse left.

He rested his elbows in his lap, and his head in his hands.

"I promised Eugenia," He whispered.

"I promised I would take ggoodcare of our daughter... I'm a failure."

A while later:

"Sir. ... Sir. ... Sir!"

Gus woke up from the petite nap he had taken.

"Yeah..."

"Mr. Butler, Doctor Gray here, Dr.Gray, this is Mr. Butler- Eleanor's father."

Dr. Gray stretched his hand to Gus.

"It's a pleasure meeting you sir."

Gus shook the hand. "Oh on the contrary, the pleasure is mine."

"Visiting hours are now available Sir, bu-"

Gus ran to the hallway.

The doctor ran behind.

"Which room?"

"Three o' eight, but Mr. Bu-"

Gus ran to the room labeled "308"

He stormed inside.

The Doctor did not enter the room. He had stopped to talk to someone in the room next door.

Gus walked quietly to the left side of Eleanor's bed.

He stood there, looking at her quietly.

Eleanor opened her eyes to find a man looking down at her.

She flinched startled.

The man moved back.

"Sorry," he apologized, "Didn't mean to startle you."

"No, that's okay, it's just, I thought I was alone."

"Oh, I just came in minutes ago, Elly. How're you feeling?"

"Much better... but."

"But what?"

"Who are you?"
