chapter 26~

It had been a couple of weeks now. Eleanor had already gotten used to living in Albuquerque, it was all going pretty well, or at least, that's what Eleanor thought.

Eleanor Looked up from the book she was reading. She frowned when she saw her phone screen lit up.

Eleanor teared up when she saw who the message was from.

You okay? -Janiel

Eleanor quickly replied, she feared that if she didn't reply quick enough, Janiel won't answer back, and he will get mad at her for "ignoring" him, and he will never ever message her, ever again.

Yeah, I was just thinking about you.

Eleanor couldn't help but smile. A single message from Janiel always makes her day. She just couldn't help it.

Aw, really? So was I! So listen, I'm on my way to Albuquerque right now, wanna go eat tomorrow?

Eleanor did a teeny tiny shriek. It was barely audible, yet Gus came running down the stairs.

"What happened Elly?"

Eleanor jumped up and down, "Janiel is coming to Albuquerque!"

Gus pretended to be happy as well, "Yay, ... so?"

"So? He just asked me out to eat."

Gus started thinking.

"Awww, come on Dad! Let me go! Please please please!"

Gus sat down, and he sighed.

"I don't know Eleanor, I have a bad feeling."

"Wha- How can you possibly say that! Janiel was the one who helped me come here, remember? It'll be okay."

"But, what, what about what he said before he left? He had to go home with his mom, yet his mother died, and so did his father. What if Janiel has been lying to us this whole time?"

"DaAd!"

Gus stood up. "Fine, go! I just hope I don't regret it."

Eleanor ran to hug Gus, "Thank you dad, thank you, thank you, thank you!"

"Yeah whatever."

Eleanor gasped.

"But what am I thinking? I need to go buy something to wear!"

"But you have plenty of clothes already."

"No dad, I need something amazing, something better."

"Fine, there is some money on the counter, let's go."
