Chapter 30

" Well, I can see that. You've never been here?" she asked.

Jack shook his head in return.

" I only heard of this realm.. it's a very dark place. So, not interested. Though Pumpkin Hallow lives here. She's a Halloween spirit who refused to become a Life Guardian, lead by Cupid. But despite that, she still takes care of Halloween. I believe she's one of H's friend," he told her.

" Where does she lives?" Y/N asked.

" I don't know. You should ask H about this," Jack replied.

They walked in silence when suddenly something caught Y/N's ankle, making her stumbled forward and fell to the ground with an "oomph". Jack rushed to her side and tried to help her up only to find a rope wrapped around her ankle.

" Somebody must've made this. Must be a trap." Jack said and untied the rope before helping Y/N up.

" Thanks." Y/N said, brushing off the dirt and leaves that got stuck to her clothes.

" No problem," Jack replied.

They turned around and took a step before the ground underneath them gave away, leaving them plummeting into darkness, deep underground.

" Do you think the others might have found him already?" Janice asked Merida, who kept massaging her temples. " You okay?" she added, seeing Merida's pained face.

" Yeah, just... this hair is making me dizzy. It's too heavy," Merida replied.

" Well, let's hope we'll find Jack Dark sooner," Janice said.

" We've been walking for a long time... can we sit down for a while?" Merida asked.

Janice hesitated.

" Sure, if you insist," she replied after she debated in her mind whether it's a good idea or not.

The both of them finally came to a log and Merida sat down and closed her eyes while Janice kept on standing, watching every corners of the forest to make sure that nothing was waiting in the shadows. She then saw something shifted behind a bush and she gave a gasped before squinting her eyes, trying to see if there's anything behind the bush until she didn't realized someone with a broom stick landed behind them after her flight.

" Need any help, girl?"

Both of them turned around with a jump, only to find a girl that seemed a few years older than them with extremely dark brown hair cascading down to her ankle. The wind blew the girl's hair, making it float in the air for a while. She was pale and she sweeped the ground a little with her broom stick. Then she smiled back up at the two.

" I—" Janice was about to say but Merida cut her off.

" Get away from the lass!" Janice and the mysterious girl both averted their gazes towards Merida stood defensively.

" Goodnezz, Princezz Rapunzel... what happened to your accent?" the girl asked, and both Janice and Merida realised that her "s" were pronounced in "z".

" Merida. How do ye know her?" Merida asked.

" My, my... what have happened to you, Princezz Merida?" the girl asked.

" It's none of yer concern. And ye didn't answer my question," Merida snapped.

The girl giggled in return, sending both Merida and Janice confused as they looked at each other.

" Oh, by the way... no, I'm not lozing my mind. Juzt, come with me girlz. It'z not zafe in the Blind Forezt," she said, as if reading their minds.

Her broomstick floated to her side and she sat on it, ready to take off.

" I don't think we can... we have to find our friend, he's missing," Janice said.

" Really? Well, too bad. If you need any help, juzt chant "lantern, lantern, orange" and poof! I'll be right in front of you." the girl said and she took off into the sky which was already turning lighter as dawn was approaching.

egasus and Hazelia searched here and there and were growing worried as the night was turning to dawn.

They suddenly came to a path that led to two ways. They looked at each other.

" You take the left, I take the right?" Pegasus said, though it came more like a question.

" Yeah, I guess. Anything, contact me using this," Hazelia said and pulled out a small compact mirror and handed it to Pegasus. " I have one too." she added.

Pegasus smiled.

" Cool. It's so good to have this Calling Mirror," she said.

Then they went to their separate ways.
