I scurried around my room hoping he didn't come home while I was packing. I tried to fit as much as I could in the suitcase, but I couldn't bring anything else. I had to make it look like I'm visiting family.
I grabbed my suitcase and walked down the stairs as quickly as I could. "Where do you think you're going?" Jackson asked grabbing a beer from the fridge. I slowly turned around "I'm going to visit my sister in Cal- California" I stuttered, he nodded before walking over to me eyeing me like he knew I was lying.
He pushed my hair behind my ear "now why do you gotta go on and lie like that?" "I- I'm not lying" he throws the beer bottle on the ground behind me, making me jump as it shatters.
"Why are you lying to me" he screamed throwing me on the ground. "Please Jackson stop your hurting me" he kneels down "I'm sorry princess, am I hurting you?" Tears struck the brim of my eyes. "Princess how many times do I have to tell you. Speak when your spoken to" yelling the last part.
I grabbed a piece of glass from the broken beer bottle stabbing him in the leg, he yelled out in pain grabbing his leg cursing at me as I ran.
I ran grabbed my suitcase, my phone, and car keys sprinting to the car and driving away. That was the day I never looked back I drove to my sisters house in California, explaining everything to her. She let me stay for a few months before I found myself a apartment.
After finding an apartment I deleted all my social media, and changed my number only contacting my family and few of my closest friends.
"My new life begins" I say with a smile on my face.
