Another night and another storm. It was the third day in a row that the sky's of New York were covered in storm clouds. But even though there was a ranging storm happening Lucas Friar didn't seem bothered by it as he slept soundly.

Lucas wasn't a heavy sleeper but was also not a light one. So when there was a knock on his door at 3:24 am he was awoken and sleepily walked down to his front door. When he opened it up it reveled a short girl, with tired eyes, messy blonde hair and a sleeping bag in her hand

"Hi" she said softly

"Hey Maya, what's up" he asked ushering her into the living room

"I'm scared of the storm and Riley's not home" she whispered "Can I stay with you please"

"Of course you can" he hugged her

"I'll take the couch, you can go back to sleep" she smiled

The thunder sounded through the windows and Maya jumped in Lucas' arms

"Maya do you want to come sleep with me?" he asked

"You mean in your bed?" she asked, he nodded

"If that's not a problem"

"Of course not, I can keep you safe from there" he laughed

"Thanks huckleberry" she smiled

"So if I may asked why didn't you call Mason" he said mentioning Maya's to month boyfriend

"Well you see I did call him but he didn't picked up so I thought of you and you live across the hall from me so here I am" she said nervously

"He didn't pick up" he asked jaw clenched

"It's okay, it's late he was probably sleeping, can we go to bed now please" she said quickly

"Sure"

"Will you carry me" she asked nicely

"Sure" he picked her up carrying her to his room

Once they got there Lucas laid her down on his bed and went to any next to her. She snuggled into him, putting her head on his chest

"Thank you for being there for me"Aya said suddenly after a minute of silence

"It's no problem"

"I love you huckleberry, your the best friend on the whole world" she kissed his cheek

"I love you too shortstack" he kissed her head, watching her eyes close
