Falling Ocean

It was the early morning, a gray morning,

When the clouds rolled onto the sky.

We should've seen it as a forewarning,

But we were too shy, much too shy.

Too shy to show the world some power,

So the clouds rolled and roiled,

And the rain fell down in a shower,

Wet and thick as oil.

And in the falling ocean,

We stood and laughed;

Voices full of emotion,

Worry cut in half.
