I was so tired the next day when I woke up, it was hard to get out of bed.  Mondays were normally easier because I didn’t meet Indy that morning. I climbed out of bed and got changed into my boring, old school uniform. I went downstairs and had marmite toast, then grabbed my school bag.

I had two exams that day and I was not looking forward to them. My first exam was science and the second: maths. As I am not the best at maths I think I will find it difficult. I sat down at the exam and started to read the questions. I knew a lot of them but there was still a lot I couldn’t remember; I should have studied and revised more but it was a bit late now. Overall I don’t think I did all that badly. At break I went to the library again to get some more sheets for Indy.

“Hello, do you have any different sheets than the ones you gave me last time?” I asked the same Librarian.

“I'm sorry, we don’t have any but you could go on the computer and print some off if you like.” They said.

“It’s ok, I will do it when I get home.” So that’s what I did. When I got home I went onto my computer and typed in age five English activity sheets. It came up with lots of helpful activity’s, so I printed about six of them off and read through them. I planned some lessons for Indy to write and read. Once I had finished doing that I cooked dinner just like normal.

I was going to make the soup that she chose in the book that morning. The soup did look nice - she was right. I looked down the ingredients list and I didn’t have any noodles so I put on my coat and started walking down the road. When I got to the shop there were lots of different types of noodles and I couldn’t decide which ones to choose so I just went for the ones that said plain, just in case Indy didn’t like the others. I wasn’t really sure what she liked, she just ate everything I gave her. I bought the noodles which were very expensive considering what they were. I walked home and it began to rain again. I didn’t know why but every time I seemed to want to walk home, it rained. Why was that? I just started running and slid on the pathway. I fell straight onto my bottom; it hurt a lot.

When I got home I changed into dryer, cleaner clothes as my trousers where wet and muddy. Finally I started cooking the soup. The recipe was very simple and I was adding my own touches along the way. When the soup was finished I put some in a flask for Indy, and sat down to eat. When I did dad walked in.

“Hello, your dinner is on the side. I only just finished making it so it should be hot still.” I told him. He got the bowl and sat down at the table next to me.

“How was your day?” he asked.

“It was alright, I have two exams.” I replied. Actually thinking in my head it would be a lot better when I saw Indy later.

“Did you? How did they go?” he asked again.

“They went alright, I suppose.” I surged.

“That’s good, this soup is delicious.” He complemented me.

“Thank you.” That comment made me think of Indy.

“How was your day Dad?” I asked.

“Well the hospital was very busy today. I think people are just falling over. It’s so slippery out there, I have has lots of broken le-”

“Dad!” I stopped him. “Yuck! I don’t like that stuff about broken things!”

“Yeah, right, sorry.” He apologised.

“It’s ok.” I smiled and took the bowls out. I really didn’t like all the broken limbs. I could only just deal with what Indy had.

Later on I went to bed only to wake up at 1am again. I got the soup and lessons for Indy and walked down to the jetty. When I got there Indy wasn’t there yet so I just sat on the edge waiting for her. I got out the lessons and laid them on the jetty. It was particularly cold so I put my scarf on, getting it out from my bag.

It was starting to get late and I was getting worried. Where was Indy? But I didn’t want to jump to conclusions so I just sat tight for a bit. Indy must have just over slept and hadn’t woken up yet, or maybe she forgot, but then I started to think maybe I said something to her. What if she was too hurt by Sam? What If they wouldn’t let her go? What if they found out that she was meeting me? Or maybe I was just over thinking things and she just didn’t want to come out today.

It got to 6am and I figured she wasn’t coming. So I packed up my lessons, Indy's dinner and started to walk home. I was a bit disappointed because I was really looking forward to meeting Indy. Then a thought came to mind, what if she fell over and was stuck somewhere. I had to go and look. So I turned around and walked back the same way Indy goes to go to the jetty. I looked around the corners and on the benches - she was not there. She must have just over slept, I thought to myself.

I walked home and went to the front door. I slotted the key in silently and opened the door trying not to make too much noise. When I got in dads alarm clock went off. I quickly ran round the corner and hid under the table. He walked down the stairs lazily and walked into the kitchen. I went around the other side and tip-toed up the stairs, and into bed. That was close!
