_______

When we honestly ask ourselves which person in our lives means the most to us, we often find that it is those who, instead of giving advice, solutions, or cures, have chosen rather to share our pain and touch our wounds with a warm and tender hand - Henri Nouwen

She pushed her way through the crowd that had formed as the police took Micheal away. Nonso had wasted no time in informing the police.

"You'll file a case against him."

She turned. Nonso stood there, as angry as she'd never seen him before. He creased his brows, reading her countenance.

"You look worried." He stated.

She forced a smile.

He is involved with the rape.

If Daniel was involved as Ify had stated, then she was doomed. She needed to speak to Micheal. To know who had sent him, and why.

"I'm fine," She sighed. "I'm just really suprised you know, he is my brother."

Nonso cocked his head to the side. She blinked rapidly, in order to bring tears to her eyes. She hoped she was convincing enough.

He pulled her close and dragged her out of the crowd. Together they walked to the side of the hospital and sat by on the bench. He put his arms around her and rubbed her forearm.

"I'm just so happy you aren't pregnant. It's the lords doing, he didn't succeed."

She knew he was smiling, even though she couldn't see his face. She was happy too that she didn't get pregnant. Maybe Micheal was impotent.

She pulled away from Nonso. He was smiling down at her. She smiled too, she didn't for any reason want to loose him. At the moment, right after her mother, he was the most important person in her life.

Her phone beeped.

It was a message from Ify.

Let's meet, I have something to tell you.

Derin pressed the side button of her phone and clicked it off.

Nonso sighed. "You can start filing the case today,"

Her heart beat fast. "Oh. I want to meet up with Ify, she's been calling since morning."

Nonso pouted. "And here I am, thinking you'd love to spend the weekend with me."

Derin rolled her eyes. "In your dreams,"

She looked up to see Nonso smiling at her. His glasses were no longer rested on his nose, they were off. His Hazel eyes glimmered with mischief and desire. His hair, the african texture stood out and his beards combed to perfection. All the things she noticed, all the things she loved.

"I'm so happy right now to be honest. I don't even know what to say." She laughed.

"Just be thankful."

Her mind drifted to the previous night. The things she'd said haunted her. She knew she had hurt him.

"Nonso."

"Hmm." He grinned. "What's going through your mind?"

She sighed. "I'm sorry about yesterday. The things I said were uncalled for and I just — said them."
