There are many reasons for which the holidays are hard for me

My mom is always stressed out because this is her "busy season"

And my dad's always down because we're at least 17 hours away from his family so we never spend the holidays with them

He's always used to a big family christmas, but usually it's just the four of us (my parents, me, and my sister) our dogs, and some family friends.

Every year we go to my mom's parents house a few days after christmas with just me, my mom, and little sister, because my grandparents do not like my dad.

So he is left alone at home with our dogs

And it hurts

My parents fight a lot anyway (mainly because my dad always thinks he's right) so the sad atmosphere doesn't help

And officially three years ago yesterday was when one of our dogs died the day my sister and I got out for winter break.

My friends irl on here know how hard this is for me and I'm grateful for them

I just didn't think it was fair for you guys to be concerned or worried if I seemed distant

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE Christmas, Its just different sometimes
