My hair was still wet as I walked down the street looking for Olivia's home. I glanced once more at the small paper in my hand with her address on it to confirm I was at the right house before walking up and knocking.

The door swung open and a sweet lady with long black hair that was starting to grey greeted me.

"Hi, you must be Amari. I'm Tiffany Olivia's mom," she began while ushering me through the front door. "It's so nice to finally meet you. I have heard so much about you."

My hands fidgeted with the inside of my jacket pockets as I stared at Olivia's mom.

"Oh only good things I assure you," She said while placing a hand on my back. "Olivia! Amari is here." She called down the hallway.

Within moments Olivia was running down the hallway in sweats her short black hair already straightened into a bob that brushed against her shoulders.

"Perfect," She squealed as she grabbed me by the hand and drug me away from her mom who was chuckling. "We need to hurry or we are going to be late!"

Olivia pulled me into her bedroom and shut the door behind her, leaning against it with a mischievous grin on her face.

"So here is the plan," She started while heading to her closet. "Since my mom thinks we are going to a high school party we need to leave in fake costumes." She said adding in air quotations as she said the word fake.

I raised one eyebrow at her. "I thought we were going to a high school party?" I asked extremely confused.

"Oh, I knew if I told you it was a college frat party you wouldn't show up."

"Olivia, I can't get in trouble."

"Don't worry we won't" She pressed while pushing a big wad of pink into my arms. "Now hurry and go put this on, the bathroom is just down the hall second door on the left.

Holding the pink felt fabric to my chest I headed for the bathroom. It took me a few moments to figure out how the darn thing went on and once I did I stood in the mirror staring at myself. I looked absolutely ridiculous.

I headed back to Olivia's room with my jacket in my hands and passed her little brother on the way. He laughed hysterically at me.

"Olivia," I began as I entered her room. "I'm a crayon." When she turned around I busted up laughing at her giant banana costume. At the sight of me, she began to laugh hysterically and it took us a few moments to get ourselves under control.

"Don't worry, these are the decoy costumes." She whispered.

Olivia took my jacket and tossed it on the bed before grabbing my hand and dragging me down the hallway.

"Now that's a costume every dad can be proud to see his daughter in." Said Olivia's dad who was sitting at the bar in the kitchen watching his wife cook.

"Thanks," Olivia said sarcastically. "Just what every girl wants. A dad approved costume."

Both her parents laughed.

"You girls have fun and don't get home too late." Olivia's mom said.

"Will do mom, bye."

I waved a quick goodbye to both of her parents as I was drug outside and into Olivia's forest green Chevy.

"Ok so here's the plan. We are going to stop by the gas station and change in the bathroom then head to the party, but we have to change fast because the party is thirty minutes away. Got it?" Olivia asked giving me a stern look.
