Chapter 8

The rest of the week went by quickly and with each passing day, Blaine and I had gotten to know each other more and more. We knew nearly everything about one another and that, to me, was thrilling. I feel as though I have known Blaine forever, when in reality it had only been a couple of days.

But within the time that we have spent together, I have noticed that he distances himself when certain topics come to the surface. He hates speaking about his old school or about that guy that called him “babe”.He steers away from talking about his family or anything closely related. And trust me, I respect his decisions 100 percent, but something just isn’t right. I need to find out who that guy was and what he did to Blaine that made him so angry.

It’s currently Saturday evening and tomorrow, Blaine and I have made plans to go to the mall. I decide to call him to confirm our plans and because; why not?

*ring* *ring* *ring* *ring* *ring*

“Hey, Kurt. What’s up?”

“The ceiling.”

That was such a stupid thing to say but Blaine laughed anyway. Have I mentioned how cute Blaine’s laugh is? It’s freaking adorkable. Yes, adorkable. Not adorable, adorkable.

“I was just calling to confirm whether tomorrow was still on.”

“Oh, yeah. Why wouldn’t it be? I’ll pick you up at your house at 11, we’ll go shopping at the Lima Mall, have lunch and then we can come back to my place.”

“Wait, we’re going back to your place? When did that happen?”

“Just now. I want to see you, we haven’t spent time together in a while.”

“Blaine, we saw each other yesterday,” I said with a chuckle. He really was adorkable.

“Well I’m sorry if I want to spend time with my best friend. I didn’t know that was a crime.” Blaine says with a huff.

“Okay my love, I’m sorry” I said with a smile.

Wait. Oh, fuck. I just called Blaine love. Holy grilled cheesus I’m screwed.

“my love” I hear Blaine whisper to himself quietly. I silently start praying to the fashion gods that Blaine doesn’t say anything about it and that I didn’t just make our friendship awkward.

“It’s okay honey. Ain’t nobody got time to hold a grudge.” Blaine says with a chuckle.

I think I may have just died and I may just start believing that God exists. I want to explode with happiness. Blaine just called me “honey”. He just fucking called me honey. Oh, my lord, I think I might be so excited that I’ll puke.

“Yeah, so I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“Yeah, see you, Kurt. Goodnight, love.”

“Goodnight, Angel.”

I hung up and immediately started to scream. In a phone call that lasted roughly 4 minutes, Blaine called me honey and love, and I called him angel and my love. I might burst. I jump off my bed squealing like a 5-year-old girl that just received a genuine Barbie doll for Christmas.

I was running around my room happily when Finn came trodding down my staircase like a goddamn rhinoceros. “Hey, little bro. What’s got you so giddy?”

“Giddy? Finn, did you seriously say giddy?”

“yes, yes I did.”

“Finn, what do you want?”

“I want to know what’s gotten you in such a good mood that I haven’t been kicked out yet.”

“If you must know Finn, it’s really none of your business.”

“Oh, come on, I tell you about Rachel. Why can’t you tell me about whoever or whatever it is that is impacting your life so much that you are starting to let me into your room every once in a while? Not to mention the fact that you started singing along to my music in the car on our trip to school every morning.”

“Finn, this is a completely different situation to you and Rachel. For one, I don’t come up to you and beg you to tell me anything, I don’t even listen willingly. You usually threaten something if I don’t listen anyway.”

“Oh, shut up and just tell me already, bro.”

“Finn get out, I’m not going to tell you anything about Blaine.”

“Ooohhhhhhh.”

“What?”

“You said that it was about Blaine.”

“Oh fuck. Finn if I tell you this, promise me you won’t tell anyone. Not even Puck.”

“I promise.” The idiot says, placing a hand over his “heart”. The idiot had his hand on the wrong side of his chest.

“Finn your heart is on the other side of your chest.”

“Whatever.”

“Okay, so I may or may not have helped Blaine on the first day of school when he got slushied and missed a lesson. And I may or may not have wiped slushy off his abs and called him ‘my love’ and ‘angel’ on the phone earlier.”

“Holy shit. That dude has abs?”

“Yeah, and pretty great ones too.”

“And you like him?”

“Well what do you fucking think?”

“Well, yeah.”

“No shit, Sherlock. He is gorgeous, has hair to die for, defended me from Karofsky and Azimio, and is just a genuinely amazing person. Of course, I like him.”

“Kurt, you know you can’t fall for another straight guy, right. I mean, it didn’t turn out like you expected and we can’t have another person in this house.”

“Yes Finn, I know. But here is the thing, Blaine is gay! He told me himself, and we have plans tomorrow. Only problem is that he is my best friend and I don’t want to lose him just because I have a lousy crush”

“Dude, if he is your friend, you won’t lose him over something like that. It might just bring you dudes closer than before if he knew, you never know.”

” Yeah, you’re right. Thank you, Finn.”

“Anytime dude.”

After that whole conversation, Finn stopped meddling and returned to his room. I slipped under my covers, way too excited to see Blaine tomorrow.
