Chapter 5

Soon the day was over and I had to go home. I looked over to Blaine who was walking down the hallway with me, "Hey Blaine?" "Hmm," he replied. He seemed to be in his own world.

"Do you need a ride home, or are you good?"

"No, I'm good thank you."

"Okay, well I'll see you tomorrow then," I said with a smile.

"Yeah, see you tomorrow Kurt."

The ride home was uneventful (other than an old women laughing so hard her teeth fell out) and soon I was at home. I parked the car, grabbed my satchel and took out my keys to unlock the front door. as I stepped inside, the smell of something burning filled my nostrils. Dad's home.

"Dad, get out of the kitchen,  I told you that I'll make dinner!"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just wanted to make me some eggs and bacon."

"You can't have bacon!" I scolded. Dad had a heart attack about 1 1/2 years ago and I've been trying to get him to eat more healthily. He sticks to his diet pretty well,  but every now and again, he tries to get away with making greasy bacon strips. He never succeeds though, he always smokes up the house when he does and that always gives it away.

"Jeez Kurt, can't I have one strip of bacon?"

"No, Dad. One strip leads to two which leads to more and more. Do you know what greasy bacon leads to? Another heart attack! I'm not risking your health and neither should you!" I said sternly. My mother died when I was eight years old. She had lung cancer.  I doubt that I'll survive losing my father as well.

"I know Kurt, I know." Dad said. I didn't even realise that I had tears in my eyes. Dad opened up his arms and I walked straight into them. His arms wrapped tightly around me as I let out tiny sniffles on his shoulder. We broke apart and I sat down at the counter. "So bud, how was the first day back at school?"

"It was actually pretty good. this was the fir-" Before I could even finish my sentence, Finn butt in.

"Dude, who is the new kid you were with today? Rachel is super mad; you didn't sit with us at lunch, why? Since when do you enjoy gym, I saw that smile on your face, was it because of him? Do you like him? Is he even gay? You can't fall for a straight guy again Kurt, do you know what happened the last time? He became your brother. And I personally, don't think that this house is big enough for another dude to be living in here and Burt can't have two wives, is that legal? To have two wives; if it is, that's just insane. I can't even handle Rachel 24/7 m,  imagine two of them."

Dada's gave Finn a shocked look. He talked about Dad having two wives, Oh my God. Dads look soon turned to amused. Like he just forgot everything and focused all his attention on me. I ignored Dad and turned my body to face Finn. I waited until he finished speaking before even attempting to answer him. He can be so idiotic sometimes, but I love him all the same.

"Finn I think Rachel is rubbing off on you. She's the only other person I know who can one; talk so fast without breathing, two; ramble while drifting off topic and three; talk a load of bull while doing numbers one and two." Finn looked at me and gave a pout. Like I said, he's becoming more and more like Rachel every day.

I doubt Dad listened at all when I told Finn that he was talking a load of bull because almost instantly he said: "So bud, care to explain?"

I let out a loud groan and left the room. I took my satchel and walked down stairs to my room. I still heard them laughing and I really didn't feel like answering any of their questions. To be honest, I'm not scared of what their questions will be; I pretty much know what they're going to ask. It's the fact that I have no idea how to answer them. Why did I take such a liking to Blaine? I could say it's because he's the only officially out kid at school, or the fact that I saw his abs (which yes, are breathtaking and mouthwatering at the same time.) But the thing is, even before Blaine got slushied, it felt as though I had to befriend him. Maybe I already knew he was gay (subconsciously of course) or maybe it was just karma. I don't know,  all I can remember is having this sort of urge to talk to him, and boy, am I glad I did.

I removed my Cheerios uniform and them on my cupboard. There isn't cheerios practice tomorrow which means that I can where normal clothing.  Tomorrow is the first day of my senior year where I am allowed to were my usual clothing, so it has to be amazing. I searched for hours and hours for an outfit when I finally found it. A black dress pants, white button down shirt, black (with small white dots) waistcoat, a brown with white polka dotted silk scarf and black dress shoes. It was perfect. It accentuated all my curves and hugged me in all the right places.

After I picked my outfit I set it on my dresser, I decided to call my friend Rebecca I met her two years ago when she came to Ohio to visit family. She's South African so I don't really see her, but we text whenever we have the chance. Usually it's over the weekend but I just had to tell her. She was the first one I came out to and she is one of the most accepting people I've ever had the pleasure of knowing. She's short (5'2"), has fair skin, silky brown hair and big brown eyes.

She's an extremely loud person and always manages to cheer you up when you're down. She might not seem like the caring type but she really is one of the sweetest people I know. She also stands up for her friends and doesn't let others mess with them. She stood up for me when I officially came out. Since they have a longer holiday during December, she was here when I went back to school. I asked her if she could be there when I came out and she was happy to be there. I remember when I came out to my dad; she was there, holding my hand. When I came out to the glee club, she was there. I remember after I told them, they were silent. The boys stood up and started walking towards me; I didn't know what they were going to do so I automatically assumed the worst. Before anyone could even say anything she was in front of me saying, "If you so much as touch a hair on his head I'll fucking kill you! If you can't accept him then Fuck off." Turns out they were coming to hug me, but by the way she said it, I'm pretty sure she scares off any haters. Rebecca and I are so different, which is why we get along well.

I picked up my phone and sat on the bed. It rang thrice before she answered, very excitedly if I may add.

"Hey, Kurt!"

"Hey, Bec!"

"How are you? How was your first day at school?"

"It was good. How was yours?"

"Pretty shitty, but whatever." I laughed at that, she can be a real drama queen when she wants to be.

We talked for hours until we finally got tired. I told her about Blaine and I'm pretty sure she exploded. "Is he hot?" she had asked.

I couldn't lie to her, so I told her yes.

"Blurt, Burt, Kurt CoBlaine, Klaine... "

"What are you doing?" I asked her. It sounded like a bunch of weird names to me.

"Figuring out a ship name,"

"Oh my God Bec, I only met him today," I said while laughing.

This is why I love her, she's crazy.

"Like I give a shit," was he response.

We hung up soon after her 'Klaine Shipping' episode and after I promised to keep her updated. I was really tired, so I slipped out of my clothes and climbed into bed with my boxers on. I fell asleep to the image of Blaine, slushy dripping down his abs...
