I was suddenly awoken by light streaming in from the hallway and the sound of the door clicking open. I groaned as I turned around to check my phone, seeing that it was 3 am. The noises continued as my roommate stumbled through the dark room trying to change and climb into bed.

"I am so sorry, I am the worst roommate ever," I heard Alana whisper, now snuggled up in her bed on the other side of the room. I gave her a reassuring smile, which she of course couldn't actually see, and told her that it was okay.

Alana and I had grown pretty close over the past month despite our clear differences. She was the outgoing party girl everyone loved, and I was the exact opposite. I was reserved and was much happier getting lost in a book than being at a crowded party surrounded by strangers. This shy nature was the reason that Alana was pretty much my only friend, but I was okay with that.

My eyes began to grow heavy again and I before I knew it I was drifting back off to sleep.
