Trust my luck, the moment I decided that the receptionist would be my first prey, I bumped into a minion, the one I knew quite well, much to my utter dismay.

"Lisa? What are you doing here?" Hunter asked the moment his eyes fell on me.

"Hey, Hunter", I chirped, trying my best to sound enthusiastic when all I wanted to do was take him in a corner and kick the shit out is him, "I'm here for a short visit."

"To whom?"

"None of your business." I snapped and was about to run away and ditch my original plan of annoying the minions. But Hunter grabbed my elbow the moment I turned and turned me back to face him. I jerked my elbow but his grip tightened further. I didn't want to make a scene for the people to see so I stood there, looking at him impassively.

"Look, Alyssa. It's been enough. I told you I want you back but you're still avoiding me..." He looked like he wanted to say something else but he immediately straightened and released my elbow.

I was scowling at him but let out an inaudible gasp when I felt a possessive arm snaking around my waist and a familiar scent tickle my senses.

"Babe, I'm sorry I'm a bit late. You seem like you are trying to fraternise with my employees, but your attempt doesn't seem too successful, does it?"

This.

This was why I wanted to run away the moment I saw that lemur's face.

With a heavy and possessive arm wrapped around my waist like a vine, my side pressed against the CEO's chest, and with hundreds of people staring at us with their jaws dropped as if I was pole dancing right in the middle of the lobby, it didn't take me long to realise what I had already realised.

My past attraction and my present crush, together, in the same place, in a face off with testosterone all over the place, was a very, very bad thing for me. I could swear that I would hang that dickhead upside down and feed him his own, fried, balls if he blurted out even a single wrong word. Though he had absolutely nothing on me, nothing to sabotage what Terrence and I had, yet, there was a sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach and I knew everything could go wrong right now.

I blushed furiously at the dirty thoughts my subconscious whispered to me when I felt Terrence's muscles clench against my arm. He leant down and pressed a hard kiss against my temple, making my blush deeper. For a moment, he held me tighter as his lips lingered there, and I could hear the gasps of so many people, especially that slutty secretary of his, who, when I looked at her, glared at me with so much venom, that I couldn't contain the mocking smile that erupted on my lips.

That smile was for Hunter too.

I turned to look up at Terrence for the first time since he left for work, grinning goofily. He looked nothing like that now. His eyes glinted with something dangerous, his demeanour far from the sweet and loving man I was with. He looked intimidating, and I shivered as I felt the powerful aura he radiated, his fingers holding my hips in place and his whole body, in a way, was possessively shielding mine.

He looked so damn hot.

I leaned into his embraced willingly, and he smirked cockily at Hunter. Even though Terrence looked just like how all romantic novels described their powerful, intimidating and hot male leads, he looked cool, and not to forget smug, too. Whereas on the other hand, Hunter's whole body was tensed, his jaw clenched, and he kept glaring at the hand which was on my hip.
