I walked next to Ella as she walked to school...
She didn't live far, maybe a 10-15 minute walk.
I could tell she was anxious, I could feel it.
The walk was silent, which is to be expected since I can't talk to her, and she didn't seem like she really wanted to talk.
As it is, she was going to school more out of boredom then actual need.
After today, there is only one day left of school for the year. She doesn't have any friends...
Before I know it, we are in front of the school.
Ella looks down and mumbles..
"Well, here we go".
We. She said "we"...I don't know why that feels so good to hear.
