I used to be one of those people that would go on and on about how Thanksgiving deserved its own recognition, opposed to the day it hit November, stores were already advertising Christmas. Nowadays, I can see why people don't really like Thanksgiving, myself included. The first Thanksgiving that I can remember when all of my elongated step mom's family members came over to celebrate Turkey Day. The second I walked into my dad's house, I could almost feel the sound waves of all of their tremendously loud voices booming and echoing off the walls. For many of them, it was the first time they had met me, so they shook my hand with drunken force, and reverted their attention back to the others. They were all loud, talkative, extroverts in one kitchen, chatting each other up with small talk. Soon enough, I joined my sister in her room, which we were promptly dragged out of to go make conversation. We stayed together, ate food, and occasionally talked to the people that approached us. Eventually, the night was over, and we drove off back to my mom's house.
