I can't do this anymore, dad.

Chris murmured with his head bowed in front of his father at the dinner table.

Do what?

Asked his purely confused father who set his fork aside to listen to his son who had earned his attention by winning the game yesterday.

Football.

Came the son's reply as he slowly lifted his head up to his father's direction and saw him frowning.

Why? You just won the game! Is someone on the team troubling you?

His father directed and Chris just shook his head, now a little impatiently.

He had been wanting to tell his father since a long while that he couldn't see himself spending his entire life chasing a ball, but only found the courage to do it now after a whole night of Emery trying to boost his confidence.

I don't like football, dad. I don't want to play the game.

He stated, now more like a decent man than a scared child and rose from the table, calling it a night.
