It Doesn't Work That Way Chapter 9

"Yes we do all know that." Stella said still laughing.

"I''m gonna go try this one on." I told them walking to the changing room. Once I got the dress on I looked in the mirror. There was no moment of OH MY GOSH IT'S SO PRETTY!!! It wasn't breathtaking either. Now don't get me wrong it looks good on me but I didn't have any huge feeling of WOW. It was a bit short too. And VERY tight.

*Knock knock*

"Show us the dress Rose" I heard Maya say through the door.

"No I don't think it's the one." I said back.

"Come out here now or I'll break down the door." Stella threatened. I knew she would do it too without hesitation. So I unlocked the door and walked out. "You're buying that one."

"No I don't think I like it."

"You are buying that one even if we have to force you to do so." Maya said turning me around so she could see the back. "I love the back of it."

"It has no back Maya." I said.

"Exactly. It's gorgeous on you."

"Fine I'll buy it. I hate all the other ones in this store anyway." I went back into the stall and changed back into my jeans and t-shirt. "Now what are you two getting?"

"I'm getting this one." Maya said holding up a semi long green short sleeve dress.

"No you're not."

"Why not?"

"Because it's terrible." Stella answered for me. She walks over to a dress rack and goes through it coming back with a strapless green dress with a black sash around the waist. "This one."

"Yep that one. If I have to buy this one you have to buy that one." I said smiling.

"Fine I'll buy that one. It is kinda pretty." She said putting back the other one in her hand. "What about you Stella? What did you find?"

"This thing." She said holding out a red leather dress with cut outs.

"Of course. Not as slutty as I was expecting. Nonetheless you'll look amazing in it." I said not surprised at what she had chosen. Although it did cover up a little more than her usual dresses.

"Well gotta be classy sometimes right? Plus it's not a club we're going to it's a high school dance, then a high school party. Thought I'd keep it simple."

"You succeeded."

"I know." She smiled as she flitted towards checkout.

I was in History class and we were watching yet another movie. I swear all we do in this class is watch movies. I don't even know what this movie is about. I don't really care either.

"Rose." I heard someone whisper from behind me. "Rooose." I knew who it was. And I wasn't going to respond. "C'mon Rose talk to me." I kept ignoring him. "You can't ignore me forever." Wanna bet. I've had plenty of experience doing just that. I settle further into my seat. "Rose." Nope, not gonna budge. "Fine." Finally. I thought he'd never give up. "I'm not giving up." Damn it.

Class ends and I grab my stuff and get out of there as quickly as humanly possible. I make it to my locker before he shows up. Again.

"Rose just give me a chance to explain." Sean says while I open my locker. I swing it open hoping it will hit him in the face, he's too quick though. "Rose just listen to me damn it!" After grabbing my books I close the locker and walk away not even glancing his way. If he wants to act like an ass I'll treat him like one. As I'm walking away I hear him slam his fists against the locker and curse.
