(y/n pov)

i walked inside the house i shared with awsten. we've been dating for a while now, 8 years to be exact. i've loved him since high school. i couldn't be any happier than to be with him. we've even adopted a dog. he calls it our 'fluff child' which makes me laugh every time he says it.

"hey babe." awsten spoke nervously. i shrugged off his odd behavior and gave him a swift peck on the lips.

"uh, i made dinner." he said. i saw delicious looking food sitting on the table.

i raised my eyebrow. awsten never cooks. i, again, shrugged off his suspicious behavior and responded, "thank you awsten, it looks delicious." he smiled sweetly at me. 'how adorable' i thought to myself.

it was (fave food). we sat down and started eating, making small talk here and there. before we knew it, we were finished with our meals and awsten looked more nervous than when he's about to go on stage and perform.

"uh, are you okay there awsten? you look a little troubled. c'mon, tell me what's wrong." awsten looked up at me and he nearly had tears in his eyes. i have never seen him like this before and frankly, i'm starting to get quite concerned.

"babe, are you okay?" i said, more concern showing in my voice. he spoke shakily, "yes it's just..." he took a deep breath before he got down on one knee. i placed one hand on a chair to keep my balance while the other clasped over my mouth.

"well, they say that love is forever, your forever is all that i need." he sang while opening the small velvet box. it revealed a beautiful ring with diamonds in them.

"yes!" by now tears were flowing freely down my face. a huge smile appeared on awsten's face as he stood up and engulfed me in a big warm hug. i wrapped my small arms around his waist while he engulfed my petite frame. he pulled away for a split second only to slide the ring on to my finger. he took the small of my back and pulled me in for a deep, passionate kiss.

i knew i loved him before but i couldn't love him any more than i do now. he was fantastic and so perfect. so sweet. and now i know i would never marry anyone else.
