Comming out 2.

So I went to school on the first day and ended up having most of my teachers call me Dawn. I was so anxious but they all took it really well. I just told them I went by my middle name. The response has been generally positive so far, and I've had friends stand up for me when I was questioned.
I need to get better at correcting people when they use my birth name or mess up pronouns. My friends switch back and fourth between names with me because I knew them all before I came out. I just kind of answer to both names even though my birth name makes me uncomfortable. No one really uses my correct pronouns either. I don't think people are as accepting of alternative pronouns as they are to names.
My mom is still working on accepting me. We have little random conversations about it. My dad is just starting to find things out. When we went to conferences at school my teachers called me Dawn and it was written it was written in a school program. He doesn't know why I use that name, I just gave him the same cover story as my teachers.
