 Chapter Thirteen: Detrimental Dares

Status: Not edited.

AIM: 25 VOTES.

[To the side is a picture eerily similar to how I imagine Oren to be; don't let it affect your imagination though :)]

"Love is a fire. But whether it is going to warm your heart, or burn down your house, you can never tell."-Unknown

"This is all so messy," I groaned and I felt Valentina hum in response. "Whoever is doing this is the same person who trapped me inside of you," she reasoned, "I don't know what their motive is but it is slightly terrifying."

Slightly terrifying?

It's extremely freaky.

Try having voices whispering in your head, seeing things you aren't supposed to and having abilities you know aren't normal and then trying to convince yourself that you're not schizophrenic.

If that isn't an experience to mess with your mind, I don't know what is.

I turned to gaze at Nyle and found him studying me, a frown etched on his flawless features. "Are you alright, love?" my heart skipped a beat when the term of endearment slipped from his lips, but I shoved the feeling of warmth aside.

Man up, I told myself and heard Valentina giggle in my mind.

"Shut up," I mentally hissed at her.

I looked away from him and stepped out of his hold. "No," I replied to his previous question, "No, I'm not alright. I haven't been alright ever since you freaking bit me on my neck." Nyle winced and was about to say something but I continued.

"And I've been feeling weird, everyone's been acting weird, Sloan freaking disappeared into thin air and-and, it's all just too much!"

Nyle sighed and tried to come closer to me, but I stepped away.

I wasn't feeling like a damsel in distress anymore. In fact, my stomach felt like it was sinking and I felt rage course through my body.

Screw being heart broken, I was infuriated and pumping with anger.

"Uh, Delilah..." Valentina murmured, "Could you just lend me some control for a while?"

"Isn't invading my mind enough?"

I heard Valentina sigh, "This will help you. I mean no harm."

"Fine," I sighed begrudgingly and let her take a bit over me. I felt a chill run over me as she grasped control of a fraction of me.

"Don't worry, I won't hurt you," Valentina assured me, "Just try concentrating on anything else."
