HAPPY NEW YEAR :D

Recap:

I tried to pull away from Nyle who refused to let me go. He spun me around and I was caged in his arms. An army of sparks crackled through my skin, I could feel my heart thud against my rib cage. "Careful Delilah," he whispered cheekily, his enticing breath fanned across my face, "You keep getting stuck in such suggestive positions with me, one would think that you like me." I raised my eyebrows at him, "You're the only one who thinks that there suggestive. Plus, you're the one who positions me in them. If there was anyone to blame, it would be you." Nyle chuckled, "No need to be feisty, Delilah. I was just give you an outsiders perspective." I shook my head at him and tried pulling away -though my body screamed at me to not-, but he wouldn't budge. "Nyle, let me go."

Nyle shook his head. "Why would I do that?"

"Because I said so!"

"Brilliant argumentative skills you got there, Delilah."

I groaned, "Move, Nyle." A inferno of tingles raged in my body and in that moment it was almost as if the reality of my emotions slapped me in my face. I liked Nyle. And maybe, possibly, he liked me too.

No.

I couldn't...

He couldn't...

This can't happen!

"Nyle, LET GO OF ME!"

"No."

I tried kicking him where the sun don't shine but he held me in place. When I parted my lips to allow for a string of profanities to pour, Nyle effectively shut me up.

By kissing me.

I froze when his lips came in contact with mine. A fire burst between our lips and the same electricity I had felt crackling between us the fist time, came alive. My heart thudded in my chest and my hands shot up to tangle my fingers through his hair. I heard him groan and press me closer to him, his fingers that brushed against the slit of exposed skin due to the hitching of my shirt, burned through my skin. His kisses were making me dizzy but I couldn't stop kissing him. It was like he was a drug, and I just couldn't get enough of him. And hot damn, he was probably the best kisser that ever existed.

Suddenly I heard the voice that didn't sound a thing like the whisper of my conscious, scream at me to stop. A force pushed me back from Nyle and I hit my head against the locker, groaning in pain before I blacked out.

Aw man, I thought before I was about to faint, Not again.

Her heels click against the marble floor as she storms into the room. I sigh and turn around from my book to face my fuming mother, "Good morning, dear mother. What have I done to be graced with your dear presence today?" I ask.

My mother's left eye twitches as she takes in my morning gown and my hair that probably resemble the nest of a gullinghorn (A/N- Will be explained in other chapters).  "What in the serpent's name are you doing, Valentina! Rid yourself of that novel and adorn yourself!" I sigh and tuck a stray strand of hair behind my ear, "But I don't want too," I whine, "I do not wish to live a life pleasing any one of those potential suitors who have lined up to meet me." My mother's countenance softens for a bit, before it reverts to it's usual, grim state, "I'm afraid you do not have a choice, Valentina. Times are difficult for the kingdom, and so extreme measures must be used to ensure survival. Now," my mother claps her hands together as she speaks, "Adorn yourself."
