Balloons!

A short poem I wrote in 2015, following a simple structure and explores the story of a young child and their balloon. Originally the poem took the form of a balloon itself, however, I was unable to replicate this in formatting.

Balloons can be big balloons can be small,

But there is one thing that they all have in common,

They make a big bang when they're jumped on,

When they're pricked with a needle,

Or worst of all when they're too BIG!

You might see a little girl or maybe even a boy,

With a small balloon in their hand not letting it go,

But when you look away.

You see that child they're crying with no Balloon,

And a distraught face wanting another in its place.
