mr. park sat there somewhat flustered, a bit disgruntled from that last part (as he didn't like being compared to others), but he remained impassively staring at her as though her words hadn't had the slightest effect on his heart.

she found him so peculiar.

mr. park never smiled, never laughed, never played along, never grimaced, never shouted, never reacted. he was the most inexpressive man she had ever met—maintained the same exact poker face all throughout the month she's been in his class.

the only time she'd witnessed his mien change was today, when he caught jungkook leaning in to kiss her.

that's why everybody had been so shocked. the teacher, whom the entire student body deemed a robot, had been overtaken by rage. it was a milestone (a day marked in history!) even if his state of fury did only last for a few moments.

mr. park didn't say anything for a while, simply remained in his office chair and peered up at her as though in a trance. upon noticing his adam's apple waver inside his throat, she felt her own body slowly withering away.

she gulped down her developing nerves and valiantly met his cryptic gaze.

that's when she fully savored the harshness of her own words. she sighed, immediately regretting injuring his ego by mentioning mr. kim but even still refused to apologize. it'd certainly claim defeat.

"i'm going now," she whispered, unintentionally prolonging their dark and entrancing eye-contact before reluctantly heading towards the door. but before she reached out for the knob, she made sure to turn around and flash him a cheeky grin, just to feign normality and mischief. "i'll see ya next class, sexy," she blew him a hand kiss and hastily skidded out the class before he could scold her for it.

mr. park, however, found his lips curling up at her quirky gesture, as though finally accepting his ultimate doom.

the sight was unlike any other.

he actually smiled—out of flattery!

mr. park felt the warmth of her hand kiss heat up his chest, and he guiltily respired, relishing her sweet and addictive fragrance that dangerously infilled the air.

but when he became aware of what he had subconsciously (and conspicuously) done, he blinked away from his illusional trance and shook his head vigorously. what are you doing? his conscience rebuked.

and so he looked back down at the scattered pile of worksheets on his desk and commenced grading them in a rather mechanical manner, attempting to block out jay parker's mesmerizing face from the mental prison of his brain.

and she remained standing outside his classroom, leaning back on the metal door that separated their souls. she shut her eyes, chin elevated, hand on her chest, heart thumping uncontrollably against her ribcage, and she released a shaky breath when the memory of mr. park's overpowering stare began to haunt her mind.

++ also, yes i'm aware that "jay parker" sounds almost like the kiNG "JAY PARK" OOF but i wrote this story before i came across such a talented man, so the similarity is pure coincidence! i was uncultured back then!

but, technically, if jay marries jimin, she'll also be jay park 🤔
