Mother's Day flowers 

Camila's POV: 

I look at myself in the mirror. My hair wavy as usual and my big Mayday Parade hoodie on. I feel the fresh cuts scrape against my sleeves, I wince before turning away from the mirror.

How did I end up like this?

I let out a deep chuckle before whispering to myself

"Fuck up" 

I grab my phone and lazily walk down my stairs, my baby sister Sofi running up to me and latching onto my leg.

She's the only one with liveliness in our family nowadays, since our father died my older sister Maisey and my mom and I haven't been the happiest. The only small bit of happiness I get is when i'm with Sofi. 

She's so innocent. So pure. She doesn't know that her father died of an overdose. She doesn't know that her oldest sister has a drinking problem. She doesn't know her "best friend" also known as me is so fucked up inside and gets bullied ruthlessly everyday. She doesn't know that her mother works two jobs just to raise her and I, she's just simply works a lot. 

I feel bad for Sofi. She has to grow up in such a fucked up place and she doesn't even know. I dread the day when she finally realizes how fucked up this family actually is. I don't want that day to come. I will get her out of here somehow. 

I give her a small smile before pulling her off my leg. 

"Come on Sofi, lets go get mommy some flowers for tomorrow" I say holding her small hand in mine as I grab my house keys and walk out the door with her 

"Because tomorrow is Mother's Day, right" She questions tilting her small head up towards me as we walk down the street toward the flower shop 

"Yep, mom has the day off since it's Sunday tomorrow" I say smiling at her 

"Oh" Is all she says as her tiny hand grips mine tighter 

We walk in silence for what seems like hours before we reach the flower shop. 

As we walk in my eyes meet a pair of flawless green eyes. I would know those green eyes anywhere.

Lauren Jauregui.

She goes to my school and her little monkeys make my life a living hell, as if I don't have it hard enough at home. She never does any of it she just simply stands and watches, giggling occasionally as I get bashed into a locker or called horrible names.

She is cheer captain and well basically captain of the rest of the school as well.

I shake my head clearing my thoughts as Lauren helps a boy with his flowers.

I knew she worked here and I can't help but admire how cute she looks in her uniform. Her light yellow polo, her hair in a black beanie and her light ripped skinny jeans. I have to admit I have been infatuated with her since 8th grade when she came to Miami.

"How about this one" Sofi says tugging on my sleeve causing me to wince

"Huh-ow-uh" I stutter looking at the daisies that she's pointing at "Um sure"

"Did I hurt you Kaki" She asks concerned and I chuckle

"Nah kiddo you're fine" I say ruffling her hair and grabbing the bouquet of daisies "Any other flowers"

"Let me look" She says looking around

I hear footsteps behind me before I hear her angelic voice speak

"He- oh hi Camilla" She says pronouncing my name wrong

Seriously i've known you for three years and you can't bother to pronounce my name right?

"Oh" I say and Sofi glares at her

"It's CamEEla not Camilla" She says and Lauren grins at her

"I'm sorry" She smiles squatting down to Sofi

What the fuck is Lauren doing, I swear to god if she does anything to Sofi I won't hesitate to deform her perfect little face.

"Whats your name" she asks smiling at Sofi

"Sofia" She says squinting at her

"You're very cute Sofia" She says messing up Sofi's hair and standing up

"Shut up" Sofi snaps and Lauren bursts out laughing while my jaw drops

"SOFI" I gasp and she just shrugs

"Your little sister is cute" Lauren says smiling at me and I look at her like she's crazy

Did she pop a fucking molly before her shift or is she actually talking to me.

"Uh thanks" I say uncomfortable

"So can I help you two with anything"

"No" I say and she furrows her eyebrows

"Oh uh okay well let me know if you need anything" She says biting her lip and walking away

"I don't like her" Sofi whispers grabbing some sunflowers and putting them in my hand

"Sofi shush she might hear you" I say covering her mouth

"I don't care" She says and hands me some roses

"Well I do" I whisper walking up to the cash register

The last thing I need is her minions to treat me worse  

"Who are the flowers for" Lauren smirks as she rings us up 

"Her boyfriend" Sofi snaps and Lauren scowls, chewing on her lip 

"You h-have a boyfriend" She asks her eyebrows knitted together

Why the fuck would she care. She's probably shocked that the likes of me could actually get one. Too bad I don't like boys Sofi.

"N-"

"Yeah she does" Sofi says glaring at Lauren

"Oh" She she says her eyes changing colors

"N-" I go to say how delusional Sofi is but she pinches my leg

"The roses are for our mom though" Sofi says quickly

"Oh that's nice" Lauren says smiling fakely taking my credit card

I put my hand over Sofi's mouth as Lauren hands me the receipt 

"Have a nice time with your boyfriend" Lauren grumbles as we walk out of shop

"SOFI" I say as we walk down the street

"That made her jealous" Sofi giggles and I roll my eyes 

"No that didn't Sofi" I say and she rolls her eyes, slipping her tiny hand into mine 

"I don't like her, she's mean to you" She says glaring at the ground 

What how did Sofi know anything about that 

"WHAT" I say a bit louder than I intended 

"One time Maisey and I were at Burger King and her and her friends were there and Maisey told me that those girls are mean to you" She basically growls, she's so cute

"Oh well they aren't" I say and she glares at me

"I don't believe you" She says and I sigh
