7.Inner Demons

Grace looked up at Ben and nodded. Ben grabbed her hand
"Did he hurt you at all?" Asked Ben very concerned. Grace shook her head
"No,thankfully." She wiped her tear off as their coffee arrived. They both took their coffee and took a sip. Ben looked at her
"What else is bothering you Grace?" Grace reached in her pocket and pulled out the webbing and showed it to Ben. Ben looked at it and then he had a sort of flashback to when he left Carson on the couch. Ben thought to himself
"Does she know I'm...Spider-Man?" Ben then looked at her and asked
"Webbing? From Spider-Man?" Grace nodded.
"I didn't hear my dad come home last night. I woke up today and he was on the couch with this webbing on him and a bunch of scratches and cuts. I'm worried about him,epically with more and more of these guys like the Shocker." She sighed and took a sip of her coffee.
"How did he know where he lived?" Asked Ben. Grace replied
"I-I don't know,but I'm glad he broght him home in one piece." Ben thought to himself
"She doesn't know,thankfully." Grace then looked a Ben
"I've been meaning to ask you this,what were you actually doing the night Joel turned into Electro?" Ben looked at her
"What do you mean?" Grace then looked at him in the eyes
"I know you Ben,you would never just take pictures and not help if you were there. So tell me what you were really doing that night Ben." Ben looked at her and thought to himself
"Should I just tell her? No...she's already going through alot. I can't no matter how much I want to." Ben then spoke
"You're right I wasn't taking pictures. I was-" before he could finish his sentence his phone began ringing. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. It was Emma
"Do you mind if I take this?" Asked Ben.
"Go ahead Ben..." Said Grace trying to hide her sadness. She thought to herself
"That must be the girl he's dating..." Ben answered Emma's call and said
"Hello?"
"Ben,we need to talk now."
"I'm kind of busy right now Em."
"Ben,this is important."
"Can we just talk about this later? Like at the festival tonight?"
"Fine."
Emma hung up and Ben looked at Grace.
"That was Emma..." Grace nodded
"You to going to the Halloween festival tonight?" Asked Grace.
"Yeah,you should come with us,it'll be fun." Grace thought about it
"Sure why not." Ben smiled and said
"Great,meet us at the entrance." There was a loud sound of a helicopter overhead. Ben and Grace both looked up and saw an all black helicopter. Ben thought to himself
"That's the helicopter from last night..." A rope fell from the helicopter.
"Grace follow me now!" Ben got up out of his seat and ran, Grace followed Ben running after him. Ben stopped in a shopping mall and he turned to look at Grace.
"What was that all about?!" Asked Grace yelling at Ben. At the helicopter the Shocker slid down the rope with a mega phone in hand. He landed in the middle of the street and then he spoke into the megaphone
"Alright I'll make this quick,Spider-Man we have unfinished business to take care of. Get your ass down here or else" His voice was distorted but still understandable. He aimed his gauntlet at a car and he shot blowing up the car.
Or else more people will die." He dropped the megaphone and looked around.

"I saw that helicopter in the news. Stay here...I'm gonna go get people somewhere safe." Ben ran out the shopping mall.
"Be safe!" Yelled Grace at Ben. Ben looked around outside and went to the closest alleyway and started to change. He webbed up his clothes on the wall and he put on his mask.
"It's go time." Said Ben to himself as he crawled up the wall and to the top of a building. Shocker picked up the megaphone and started speaking again, his voice still distorted
"Tick tock Spide-" Ben web pulled the megaphone to himself and spoke into it
"Always wanted to speak into one of these!" He shouted into megaphone.
"You're already getting on my nerves!" Shocker shot his red wave at Ben. Ben jumped over the wave and swung towards the café. He landed on the table he was sitting at
"I have a knack for that." Shocker shot at Ben but he kicked the table into the blast and he punched Shocker knocking him back into a car.
"Now you're really pissing me off!" Shocker tried punching Ben but Ben ducked it and kicked Shocker. Shocker grabbed his foot and slammed him into the car and then he put his gauntlet to his chest and blasted him through a building and through the glass doors of the shopping mall. Grace along with a bunch of other people looked as Ben was sent through the glass doors of the mall. "...Hi...ow..." Ben stood up slowly with glass in his shoulder and he pulled out a shard of glass. Shocker walked through the broken glass doors and he looked at Ben
"Don't tell me thats all you've got web head." Ben looked at him
"Nah...just admiring the glass in my shoulder." He flicked the glass at Shocker. Shocker punched Ben but Ben caught the punch and kicked him into the wall, he then shot a web at his chest and pulled him into an uppercut. Shocker rolled back and shot at Ben. Ben jumped on the side of the wall and saw the blast hit the elevator to the mall
"Oh no!" Ben thought to himself and he swung to the elevator. Grace ran to find a safe hiding space. Shocker ran after Ben.
